Unexpected Horror...
Just wondering if anyone has ever seen a film, TV programme or what ever that contained something which scared you that isn't a based around horror (e.g. a horror film).
I always remember in Cracker (TV show in England) there was this one episode where the fella basically went off the rails. Got pissed off, killed some people and ended up with a bomb and yeah, sure you know the rest. Anyway, it wasn't the plot that was scary or important really, it was kind of unoriginal to be honest but the way he played his character was beyond brilliant. That character was scary. It's so easy to play that role badly but every single director planning on any sort of deteriorating character should check that out. So does any one know of any other instances where a non-horror thing has scared them before? |

There's this film "Murder by Death"; it's supposed to be a comedy spoof of great fictional detectives; anyways there is this mask that's shown and it pretty much scared me when I was younger.
That and also when Peter Falk opens up a case and you see the maid that dissapeared; I didn't get that it was a dummy when I was younger so I pretty much thought that she was dismembered! |
