Thumbs up punk horror flicks

I'm looking for any punk horror films that are flying around. If anyone knows of any I'd appreciate your input.

The films I have already seen are:

Return of the living dead
Demons

I was thinking there has to be more than this. There are shit loads in other genres.

I just finished watching the new york ripper. It's pretty good, it's probably one of my favourite fulci films. What do you guys think of it?

Punk horror? I guess I can't really think of any specific matches, but I would think that Re-Animator would be the kind of tone you're looking for.

Demons is cool. So is Demons 2. If you've only seen the 1st Return of the Living Dead check out 2-5. They're not a bad franchise at all.

Like Mothman said, some Troma stuff would fit the bill. I recommend Redneck Zombies (Low, low, low budget zombie films that's fun to get stoned & watch) or Cannibal! The Musical (Written, directed by & starring Trey Parker & Matt Stone of South Park fame)

There's also a film that sounds exactly like what you seek called Punk Rock Holocaust (starring tons of bands that were on Warped Tour one year), but I don't recommend it. It sucked pretty bad.

Thanks all. I forgot all about the troma films. I've got an old video of class of nuke 'em high. That's a funny film.

Re-animator is fantastic. A modern classic.

I've see return of living dead 1-3. I haven't seen 4 or 5. Are they any good? Where can I buy them from?

Cheers.;)

RotLD 4 & 5 you can probably find at your local Blockbuster or Hollywood video for rent. Otherwise Netflix has them both. I'm sure you could find them to purchase on Ebay.

Now that we're getting a feel for the style of films you like, I'd also recommend Dawn of the Dead (original & remake are both cool), Shaun of the Dead, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, Evil Dead 1 & 2 + Army of Darkness, Feast, Devils Rejects and Cabin Fever.

A good selection of films there. I've got most of them.

I have the European cut of dawn of the dead, (original), uncut. It's fantastic. The running time is 139 minutes. I was wondering what the american cut running time is, since I never checked?

That's the Extended Cut, or the "Cannes Cut". The theatrical, American Cut, like bwind said, is 126 minutes. The Dario Argento-edited European Cut is only 118 minutes.

The theatrical cut is far-and-away the best of the three, but they all have their pluses.
