The Dark is Rising
I'm glad to see underdog fantasy classics like the works of Phillip Pullman and Susan Cooper hitting the screen. This could turn out to be very good, if it isn't stupid about the source material. I hope this trend continues so that someday we could possibly see a Thomas Covenant movie.

I read that Book 2 of the series has been taken up for the movie's adaptation.
Here's to hoping they dont mess it up.
