The Darkness Before the Dawn (My new short is up)

Hey all...My new short film, "The Darkness Before the Dawn" is now availible to view on ifilm...

http://www.ifilm.com/video/2852855

LET IT LOAD BEFORE PLAYING.

The quality isn't the best....I'm still waiting or Veoh to approve the full quality version, but it's actually not that bad on iFilm...

It took me forever to get it done, so enjoy it or hate it, let me know what you think...

AND FOR BEST EXPERIENCE WEAR HEAD PHONES AND/OR TURN THE VOLUME UP!

Really impressive work. Great pacing and directing, the acting is pretty good too. The male lead looks a lot like Gael Garcia Bernal. The sound mix isn't great, but it isn't distracting.

I actually jumped back at one point:) How long did it take to shoot? Edit? Mix? What was your budget?

We shot it in 3 days (including re-shoots) and it took forever to edit because I was very unhappy with it...But the first rough edit took about a week....I scored it in a day...

Mixing, I guess I'm still doing that...What's wrong with the sound?

The volume is low and the dialog is a little muffled at times.

That's an uploading problem then because it sounds fine on the DVD I have...If you know of any place where I can upload the full quality film I'd appreciate it...

Both of your credit sequences were cool & professional quality & there was some good acting throughout. Fucked up lil' story too. Thumbs up, 14 minutes well spent & nice work.

I am just putting the finishing touches on my own first live action short, but it's nowhere near competition quality (Never really was intended to be. I just wanted footage to play with new editing software. The 2nd film we do will be when we start taking it more seriously in terms of acting and script.) and The Darkness Before The Dawn, I'd say is of competition quality. Have you entered it any contests or do you intend to? And have you made other short films or is this your first?

I'm entering it into a few comps but it's a really expensive undertaking...
