Van Helsing anime....

A full-length animated Van Helsing DVD is coming out in May. It's a prequel to the movie and has Hugh Jackman supplying his voice. All I saw was the cover (no stills), and from what I could tell it's done in anime style (which I guess is slightly better than the square-chinned WB/Hanna-B style---though at least then Van Helsing would look like Bruce Campbell).

I too like Peter Chung. His lanky characters would fit the style Van Helsing needs to be. If they go with anime, I at least hope they Americanize the character art---I can't stand the big eyes and spiky hair. And everytime a character in anime jumps, the scenery vanishes and is replaced by lines indicating movement. I hate that. I also hate it when they slip in computer animation; that just seems like cheating.

They already made a Hellsing anime, a while ago. I dont think its the same thing you guys are talkin about tho. Its about dracula and was pretty tame all together.

I've seen the Hellsing box but have never watched the movie. The Van Helsing thing we're talking about is a tie-in with the big-budget Hugh Jackman movie that's coming out this summer. He kinda looks like a cross between Vampire Hunter D and Robert E Howard's Solomon Kane.

What did Drac look like in Hellsing?

You're right, that does look kind of freaky for Dracula. Thanx for the image.
