Sweeny Todd
 I know most of you here probably hate musicals, but this one might just make you sit up and take notice. For those of you unfamiliar with the story: (From Wikipedia) Sweeney Todd is a fictional villain/antihero. A barber and serial killer, the character appears in various English language works starting in the mid-19th century. His weapon of choice is a straight razor, with which he cuts his victim's throats; in some versions of the story his friend and accomplice, Margery (sometimes Nellie) Lovett, bakes the carcasses into meat pies. Stephen Sondheim wrote a wonderfully black musical about it and now Tim Burton is Directing tyhe filmed adaptation starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter & Sacha Baron Cohen. Should be bloody, Gothic fun!

I'm always in the extreme minority, but I just do not care for Tim Burton. I know, blasphemer!! I just don't find him all that interesting with the exception of Beetlejuice and Sleepy Hollow. He generally gets a lot of slack from me, too, because I love Johnny Depp. I hold him singularly responsible for giving Helena Bonham Carter a career that never should have been.

I love musicals period.
Depp should keep doing this and stay away from my Sin City. rawr. but let's not get off topic... This is so exciting. I love the story, I love musicals, I love Tim Burton and Depp. I'm pretty pumped. THis is my first time seeing the costume too, looks nice.

Sweeney Todd has great music that actually adds to the atmosphere . The musical isn't strained in the least.
