That's part of the charm, my man. A good horror movie doesnt have to be 100% serious from beginning to end, lighten up a bit:)

Go watch the original....cheesy as all heck, but just so damn fun!

I think you are alone on this one. I loved the movie, especially the cheesiness in it. Solid direction, plus great performances from all specially Rush. Famke looked fresh and lovely, and put in a great performance too.

I didn't care for it too much. I do agree however that part of the original film's charm was that it was a little cheesy around the edges.

Bill Malone's earlier films (Scared to Death, Creature) I liked a lot.

I'll agree any day that the "Darkness" at the end was REALLY bad, but I'll defend the rest of the movie to my deathbed.

I thought it was wonderful. It's the perfect movie for a late night horror fest. Good gore, nice cheese, great acting. Atmosphere, atmosphere atmosphere.

Although everyone has a few films they hate that everyone else loves, and a few films they love that everyone else hates.

I loved House on Haunted Hill, one of my faves, love Ali Larter in it, and Kattan's character made me laugh, I truly loved this movie, hell I love a movie that everyone hates, and that being House of Wax, so don't feel left out because you hate House on Haunted Hill.
