netflix shipping strategy...
dumb thread, but didn't want to screw-up anyone elses' thread w/ my question:
is it better to put all your netflix dvds in one envelope or separate envelopes in relationship to the time frame in which your next movies are sent? reason being, i sent three movies back the other day and so far only one has been received, processed and a new one shipped out...

I know there are people that do put all movies in one envelope. I've never done it. I've had a problem a couple of times where they never received it, but it hasn't been a constant problem.

I believe he multi dvd in a single envelope actually slows the process down a bit.
There is a little window in the mailing envelope for reading the barcode on the disk sleeve. If you put the sleeve nito the envelope the right way - it speeds things up...the scanner can register reciept of the disc before the envelope is even opened. Multiple discs will not be seen until after the opening process.

I just sent two back in one envelope last Tuesday, they received them both on Wednesday, but one new movie was shipped on Wednesday, and the other will be shipped today and arrive tomorrow. I dont know if that because of shipping them in one envelope or what.

I returned two movies in one envelope, and they said they only received one of the two movie I sent in the SAME envelope. Ever since then I have returned them in separate envelopes.

Ship them individually to keep from slowing the process any further because they will sandbag you on fast return times anyway.

We're having problems with them too. We mailed 2 movies back which they did receive, and they claim they have shipped our next 2 but it's been 3 weeks and we've been back and forth with them....still nothing. I'm about to give up and cancel thing whole thing. I kinda miss poking around the video store anyways.

I've heard a lot of bad things about NetFlix lately. The one person I know who still raves all over them is a guy who only watches movies on weekends, and then usually doesn't send them back for a few more days.
My unlce, on the other hand, was unemployed for several months. So he was getting his flix, watching them all the same day, an dropping them in the mailbox the next day. They completely sandbagged him. He started getting one flick, then it'd be a week before he got another even though he'd watch the one & immediately drop it back in the box. From what he tells me, newer flicks that were high up on his que started getting bumped in favor of other "more NetFlix friendly" kind of customers, like my other bud above. I visit him enough to know that they really were sandbagging him, really badly towards the end. I can't confirm any of the other stuff, though.
