We will also accept horror related documentaries. To submit your film or screenplay into our competition this year, just go to our website: http://www.eeriehorrorfest.com and follow the directions you'll find there. At the moment we are only taking submissions via WithoutABox but we will have downloadable entry forms on line by week's end for those who prefer an alternative way of entering our competition this year. Overlooked, underrated, and misunderstood, independent horror movies have been ignored and shunned by the mainstream film industry since it began more than a century ago. Through the decades, these films have entertained and thrilled audiences around the world and continue to grow in popularity to this very day. There is an incredible amount of talent in this field that goes unnoticed an unappreciated, and we are proud to announce that the Eerie Horror Film Festival hopes to reverse that trend. This event was established in order to give filmmakers and writers in the horror /sci-fi genres a venue to have their work showcased to people in the industry. Since 2004 the Eerie Horror Film Festival has screened nearly 100 indie films and has featured such guests as Lloyd Kaufman (Troma), Gunnar Hansen (Texas Chainsaw Massacre), Mark Borchardt (American Movie), John Hancock (Academy Award nominated director), Sean David Morton (Joe Killionaire/talk show legend), Ben Meade (Bazaar Bizarre), Michael Stanley (Attack of the Beast Creatures), Debbie Rochon (actress), Pam Sutch (actress), Greg Lamberson (Slime City), Jamian Snow (author), Dorothy Tristan (screenwriter), Len Kabasinski (Swamp Zombies), Travis Bowen (actor/director) and many. many more! In 2004 with the generosity of Lion's Gate Films we were able to show the North Coast premiere of the movie "SAW", two weeks before it hit the theaters! Several of our selected films have gone on to get distribution deals after our Fest including "The Last Horror Film" which was picked up and released by Fangoria a few weeks after it won Best of The Fest at our event! The 2006 Eerie Horror Film Festival will be even bigger and better, with more special guest and surprises! We hope that you will be a part of this year's festivities! The EERIE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL takes place each year at the Road House Theater in beautiful downtown, Erie, PA. (USA). The Roadhouse is a beautiful, gothic, community theater that looks like it was tailor made for a horror fest! The theater has comfortable seating, a cafe, and room for merchandise for those of you interested in selling your product at our event. (Please contact us for more info). A motel is located directly across the street from our event, as are several fast food restaurants and the downtown district of Erie, which features more upscale eateries and taverns. Erie is only a short drive from the cities of Cleveland, OH, Buffalo, NY, and Pittsburgh, PA. For those of you looking for other activities throughout the weekend. spam?
I assure you that I didn't mean to offend with my posting nor do I consider it spam.
How else are we to announce our call for entries for our competition? We love indie films, the people who make them and the horror genre in general. I guess I could write individual posts with the exact same info to make it seem more personal but it would be both pointless and time consuming to say the least... That said... a million apologies... and know that I am indeed an active member on this board... spammers usually paste and run.... By the way, are you a Pink Floyd fan? I'm assuming so by your nick... feel free to e-mail me as I have been collecting Floyd stuff for decades and even have some odd contacts with Roger Waters. Peace, Greg (The Baron) |

ugh
Jesus... okay "active" was a bad choice for what I was trying to say... which was that (a) I am not pasting and running away from the board and (b) that while what I posted is indeed a form letter, I have no other idea how to announce our Fest in any other fashion that would make sense.
Bottom line is this... we have a Fest for Horror filmmakers and screenplay authors. We spend lots of money, time and effort to provide a nice theater and a competition for these folks. We love the horror genre and we would not be able to do what we do without posting the info on line. This is a Horror site. We run a Horror Fest. That is that. Here we are. To me spam would be posting something very off topic (viagra or some weight loss medicine) in this forum... For those I have offended, again many apologies. I never even gave it a thought before posting here. If providing my name, address, contact numbers and website URL's constitutes as spam, the entire internet community is in trouble! (Especially for people at the grassroots level - i.e.: filmmakers, musicians, festivals, conventions, etc - whose very livelihood rests upon "getting the word out" via the net.) Thanks. Greg |
