Jump the Shark !

As some of you know, "jump the shark" refers to the exact moment when Fonzie did just that and 'Happy Days' went downhill right afterwards. Movies, bands, books, etc. all do it eventually where some dopey stunt forever ruins any credibility or integrity.
My first jump the shark complaint: Slim Whitman's 'Ghostriders In the Sky'. Always loved the tune by other artists and I've been listening to him for the last few days (hey ! the guy's voice saved the world in 'Mars Attacks !'), but I just can't get over this bad 70's 'Convoy' wannabe, over reverberated, disco styled, violin ladened catastrophe. I'm sure everything else after this point in his career is equally bad if not worse. argh !

Dawson's Creek jumped the shark when they went to college. After that, it was all downhill. They totally should've just stayed at the creek forever.

But if they wouldn't have did the college shows that hot Ausie girl would've never been on.

Disclaimer-My girlfriend made me watch it.

I thought Stan Jones wrote Ghost Riders in the Sky made popular by Vaughn Monroe.
The Outlaws do a nice rendition of it as well as does Johnny Cash.

Scooby Doo jumped the shark with the introduction of Scrappy Doo.

WWE jumped the shark when they went overboard with the storylines. The whole Eddie Guerrero (R.I.P.)-Rey Mysterio bit with Eddie being the real father of Dominique was stupid and dull as hell. Though, RAW isn't doing too bad. I feel the Attitude Era rising again. RAW is back on board, though Smackdown! is humping that shark dry.

All great versions (as well as the Scatman Crothers rendition). Who knew that Slim would kill it ? Who knew I'd care enough to be making a Slim Whitman collection in the first place ? LOL
John Carpenter jumped the shark with 'Escape From L.A.'
