Time Flies

Probably a pointless thread, which could've gone in the "completely off off topic" area, but anyway...

When you're a kid, time seems like it drags on...like you're always waiting for Christmas...or your Birthday...or for school to be out for the summer...it just seems like whatever you're waiting for takes forever.

But as you get older, time goes by so quickly...seriously, I feel like I was JUST 18 (granted I'm only 24, but I seriously forget how old I am most of the time...I still feel like I should be a teenager or something). It's like time speeds up...and all of a sudden it's Christmas-Time again, etc...and you wonder where the year went.

SO ANYWAY...I've always wondered....when/if you live to be 80 or 90, etc...you FEEL like you've lived that long. Does it seem like you've been alive for that long? Or did it just fly by...like the years always seem to do. Does time ever "slow down" again like when you were young? Or is it always a race against the clock?

I hope this makes sense...and sorry if I generalized at all...maybe nobody feels that way, but just curious for any thoughts I guess. I suppose I could just ask some elderly people...but that seems a bit obnoxious ;)

Sorry I don't have much to say about the issue but I know what you're saying and I agree.

That's cool...I don't expect to get TOO much of a response...I guess I was just wondering if anyone else ever thought about that..:)

well my grandmother is 92 and she certainly isnt racing against any clocks.i have a feeling if i asked her how it felt(being 92) she'd probably answer....how do you(me,I)feel,or something like that.

at any rate time is an illusion,it's not to be trusted.

Here's how it works --- the older you get, the faster time goes. Get use to it. My advice is to not waste time fretting about getting older -- embrace it.

I would just like two and a half years added back to my life. Those were the years wasted with my ex.

Also, in my life, it was sometime this summer that the world started speeding up. Fuck, it's almost Christmas, and it doesn't even seem like it should be Halloween yet, eventhough it's colder than shit here.

Halloween got here way to early. I think that's the problem. It's only a jump to Halloween, but a 10k marathon to Christmas, and I think I know why...those damnable, irritating, bloody stupid carols.

I'm 35 now
I just had my birthday and I freaked out in a major way.
My friends gave me such good advice and I cherish them in a new light now.
But the one piece of advice that pulled me from my muck played right into my vanity"You don't even look 30".
As a woman, this is important to me-and I make no apologies for it.

Time does go by quickly,in my thoughts leading up to and after my birthday-I thought about it alot.

I don't feel like I've aged a great deal over 25 although I know much more now and I handle my emotions a bit better.
If I have a problem in the RL,I speak with the voice of age, which goes a BIT further than my 25 year old self would have.

So getting wrinkles and sagging and grey hair sucks major donkey DICK,but it has advantages that goes beyond the physical that makes up for it in spades:)

I hate to think about this. When i start wondering what it will be like/feel like when i'm much older and wiser, i think it's only a matter of time until...death! I hate to think about where i was at 4 years ago and where i'll be in 40 years, i'd rather live in the moment. I know time passes quickly, it seems like only yesterday i was waiting for the day i turned 16 and could drive, 18 and be free,21 and drink legally, now all that has happened, i'm not looking foward to wrinkles or sagging. The one thing i'm certain of is i want to live a good life, i want to stop wondering where time went and make the best of the time i have. Now, i'm feeling all sad, i'm done! :)

What's sad about this is the fact that I'm only 16 and christmas feels like it shouldn't be here for another 6 months.:( Time does go by way too fast.....
