I just saw this for the first time, and I loved it! Sure the story is kind of cheesy, but some of the death scenes are pretty good. Plus I love the theme song by Goblin. Great job Argento!

Just listen to this sentence and tell me what it means. I haven't seen Evil Dead II yet? Would you get the impression that i wanted to see it? Oh, well you couldn't have been dying to see it or else you would have already gone. So in your opinion would I definitely see it?
How the fuck should I know probably!
Why? Because it's a brilliant film, it's so funny, and the soundtrack kicks fucking ass!

This my favorite Argento film, in fact most days it makes my favorite top ten horror films list. It isn't a perfect film (the story does have some flaws), but I absolutely love how many of the scenes are set up.

Argent's best film in my view. A wonderful plot, some great twists, fantastic soundtrack (not Goblin as one member was missing, but close enough), stunning cinematography and set-ups and a balls out finale.

The first Argento to ever unspool before my eyes many years ago and it blew me away.
The camera crawl over the house is pure cinema...a perfect mix of visuals and music that has nothing to do with moving the plot along and all to do with setting up tension in the audience in a unique way. Wonderful stuff.

have this one on laserdisc (Roan group)
i love the way this guy does blood .. its always ultrared and bubbling - like in the axe in the head shot ...

i'm suprised he doesnt add the 'gloop gloop gloop - oil being poured from an oilcan' sound effect :)

...pretty good movie this one...from the incredible stupid to exellent....that dog chasing scene is very stupid and shouldnt have been there.....but Argento is an master in style....but I have to say I dont think the music always fit to the scenes.....many of his movies the music dont fit the picture...too much rock feeling to it.....but I like some of the Goblin stuff without the Argento pictures....

The dog scene was outrageously contrived but it worked wonderfully i thought. Crazy but somehow fitting.
