Goddamn Car!!!

So me and my brother go out racing tonight since we were board. And since we couldnt find anyone else to race we raced eachother, over and over, lol.

Well i guess i put to much pressure on an old exhaust system ragging the shit out of it like that (i bought the car in 2001 with the exhaust on it already) and i think i shattered all the insides of the muffler. Now it makes a crazy noise when i rev it, and i got underneith and listened to the muffler. Sounds crazy.

Anyway, now i gotta get new exhaust for xmas or live with it sounding fucked up for a while. I really needed some studio monitors too:( oh well.

Anyone else got car problems they need to vent about??

Oh yeah, i won the races lol 2out of 3(hiscar:1979 Nocturn blue Trans Am, 400 block. Mine: 1997 Camaro z28 Red, lots of mods)

Need help???

Maybe you should replace your exhaust system with Hooker headers and glass pax (cherry bombs). I assume you have DUAL exhaust...Of course then you'd have to get a better stereo system...Anyway, that's what I did to MY camaro...until I got a ticket for "inadequate silencer / improper exhaust. Apparently you're NOT allowed to do that in KENTUCKY!!!

Nice a girl whose got a camaro, And into horror? i think im in love. lol

Ya i already got Hooker Longtubes on it. I have no idea how im gonna pass inspection since i have no cats on it anymore. I had borla catback exhaust on it but its old and starting to rust (stainless steel? ) the headers are still good i just need a new catback. Ive heard good things about Hooker catback. And its cheap too at around 350.00.

Sorry about your car dude. To bad it had to happen to your nice car and not your brothers car. Red is the best color for a car.

LMAO man i gotta show this to my brother. Hes all about thinking his car is superior lol.

Well, im pretty sure its the muffler itself, not even the whole exhaust. I got my bro to get in and rev it and its definatly originating from the back. I listened to the primaries and while i do have an exhaust leak up front (part of the shitty design of the headers) the sound is definatly further back.

Good thing is im not loosing any power:D

ARIOCH...

I am quite sure that you are aware that an exhaust leak is not JUST a noisy, rattly nuisance...ESPECIALLY...A front leak...If the noxious exhaust cannot be sufficiently pulled back from the motor, the combustion can build up and blow back...SERIOUSLY damaging your engine...The longer you drive it that way (especially at high speeds...like during racing), The more the combustion builds...causing more and more damage...and in the end...DEATH (to your engine)...I'm NOT kidding...DON"T WAIT TOO LONG!!!!

Ya the exhaust leak is in the slip-fit primary which ive had problems with since the header install. Ive used sealant, exhaust clamps everything. Its pretty small now but it still leaks a bit. The only problems ive had with it so far (besides the annoyance factor) are my 02 sensors. since its letting air into the primary the 02s see it as running lean and my computer compensates by dumping more fuel into the mix. So right now im running a bit rich other than that it runs pretty good.

Ive tried to get it fixed but since they're made to fit together like that i think the only option i have for totally getting rid of it is welding them up when i do heads and cam. I just wish i had the money to do it.

Wallet says..."OUCH"...

Heads and cam? That's gonna cost a fortune...of course,if you did it yourself it wouldn't be so bad...FLIPPIN' LABOR CHARGES!!! Hey, I have an idea...Tell your brother," I BET YOU CAN'T DO IT"..."NOPE, TOO COMPLICATED FOR YOU"...and just get it done for free!!! KIDDING!
