I think it would have been made in the early to mid Seventies, and the plot revolved around a couple who move to a new house, whereupon the wife starts seeing tiny men with huge bald heads who (I think) live in the chimney breast or the cellar of the house. At one point they invade a dinner party, where again they ensure that she is the only one that can see them, and the film ends with the creatures dragging her into the cellar. I've always been convinced that the film was called "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark", but could well be wrong. Any ideas?

It's just been theatrically remade by James Wong (Final Destination).
Some say the original premise inspired Beetlejuice. |
