Question Help testing a 13 year old boys tolerance

I need help.

I have just adopted the care and well being of a 13 year old boy. His mother was a little over protective of him (IMO) so he has just started watching horror movies. A year ago it was a treat to watch Blade. Recently he has watched Resident Evil (the first one) and expressed in interest in exploring more horror movies. His mother says she is okay with it as long as I don't give him nightmares.

So I would like your assistance in coming up with a list of 5 movies that I could test his horror tolerance on - with each movie being more scary than the previous one. This way I can ease him in and test his ability to handle these movies.

I have no doubt one day soon he will be out there watching slasher flicks with his old man but I don't want to rush him.

Thanks.

Evil Dead
Alien
Friday The 13th
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Amityville 2: The Posession
The Fly (Cronenberg's remake)

Not in any order but maybe the thing to do is watch them yourself first and decide then.

nice progression.....but as he has already seen blade & resident evil, the first 2 steps are wasted. maybe lose those and add some fulci gore and dawn of the dead between texas and CH.

If ya really wanna make him cultured in the art of horror, ret some old Vincent Price films, I reccomend Pit and the Pendulum, or House on Haunted Hill.
