Pissy People at Horror.com
Okay, I haven't been on that much lately due to school being back in full swing and the administration deciding to heap a shit-load of extra responsibilities on my ass ... But, I did manage to make a post not too long ago on Dr. Kelvenstein's "What the fuck is up with the political threads at HDC" thread (or whatever the fuck it was called.) It was a post that I was somewhat proud of, because it gave me the chance to say my point of view on the issue of why I like horror (a statement that I have never made since I started visiting this place ... and I thought I had exhausted all general horror topics for a while.)
Next thing I know, the good Doctor has made his announcement that he is going to leave the site because he has been attacked ever since he made the aforementioned thread. And this isn't the first time this has happened with a member. FOLKS! An internet forum is a place for conversation, and disagreements are the stuff of good conversation. To be honest, I would probably have left this site LONG ago had I discovered that everyone here was pretty much in agreement about everything and never voiced their true opinions out of fears of offending someone or making themselves look stupid. Imagine how boring this place would be, and how much each of us would feel like an insignificant part of a group instead of a unique, free-thinking individual, if we all just sat around saying: "You're right about that. I agree 100%." The threads would be two posts long, and nobody would learn anything about themselves, each other, or the topics they post about. When someone disagrees with me, I enjoy it. I look at it as a chance to interact with someone I don't know on a personal, meaningful level as opposed to just surface "I'm with you!" bandwagoning. And I suppose this is why I am so active in the controversial threads (politics and religion). I crave this type of interaction. Not so I can try to show off and make anybody feel stupid, but because it gives me the chance to a) get to know people better, and b) reevaulate my own beliefs if they don't hold up in discussion. Take bwind22 and wufong. I consider these two to be my nemeses, and wufong has certainly resorted to personal insults on occasion (see Vodstok's "Manhunt: The cause of 1000 Murders" thread (or whatever the fuck it was called.)) But I like both of these people, and I look forward to reading their replies to my opinions (no matter how insulting those replies may be). Sure, I may get frustrated and pissed off ... but that's expected in debate. I just don't take it personally and let it pass. To make a long post short (too late): Don't post your opinion about anything if you're too damned sensitive to engage in an arguement. Because someone will disagree with you and let you know. Just sit around and agree with everyone ... and see how memorable a member you become.

I completely agree!!!
No really, i do. No bandwagon... Ahh hell, never mind. Hey, not all meaningfull conversations here are argumentative (not saying you said/implied that). And another thing i agree on is bwind22. I have never seen him get pissy or insulting, no matter how heated the debate. Thesoundofdirt (wherever he went off too..) and i had a discussion over wether or not serial killers were crazy or just evil. i believe evil, he believed crazy, and no matter what they other said, we wouldnt agree. But the conversation stayed amicable (sp?) throughout. So ease up, people. and remember when you start to get REAL pissed off:

Stingy...I thought maybe you were going to make a list...I just wanted to see if I was a "Pissy" person:D Actually...I would just like to jump on the old "I'm with you!" bandwagon, and say, "You're right about that. I agree 100%."...OOPS:eek: ...:p Okay, all kidding aside...I truly do believe that this is the FIRST time that I have to agree with everything that you have said, and I couldn't have said it better myself:)
