horror hunter needing help!

Howdy!

My friends and I are constantly trying to find scary horror films. The problem is we dont scare easily, me especially.

I thought this would be the best place to ask about good horror films, so please help me if you can!

Personally, the only films that have ever scared me have been the ring (both japanese and american versions) and, although not a horror film, the sixth sense.

I think the scariest scene Ive ever seen is the one in the sixth sense when Bruce Willis is listening to the recording of an old patient and as he turns the volume up, he hears a ghost in the background shouting. Dunno what it is about that bit but it gives me goosebumps every time!

So yeah Im looking for a horror film along those lines, one that is more about fear of the unknown (ghosts perhaps) rather than a bunch of people getting chased by some physical entity like a monster. Maybe a film that is fairly subtle with its scary bits and with maybe a bit of surrealism (the video from the ring gives me the creeps!).

I love horror films and being scared by them, but Im not easily scared so please help me find a film that does it for me!

Thanks everyone!

Exorcist III: Legion.

BTW, I believe I'm correct in saying that the scene you're talking about with Bruce Willis came directly from the book Legion.

-The Exorcist

-The Brood

-The Haunting (1963)

Those three, especially that last, should give you the willies real good.

This isn't my cup of tea (I like the physcial entities chasing teens and blood splattering everywhere horror films) but it sounds like it'd be right up your alley...

Session 9

Check it out. You'll dig it.
