Old Texas Chainsaw Game

I got to thinking about this game at the Friday the 13th game thread, and ThrelKaar asked me about it. I found it at e-bay. Here are some shots (including one screen shot).

Game Description:

"From the infamous movie comes one of the most brutal games made for the 2600. You control Leatherface, an insane chainsaw wielding character. As tourists walk through your property, chase them down and chop them up. You've got a limited amount of fuel, so rev up the chainsaw only when necessary. And watch out for obstacles, which can immobilize Leatherface and use up precious fuel. Despite the simple graphics (which don't allow for much gruesome detail), the concept of this game offended many store owners enough that they kept it off the shelves. So it was never a big seller."

I would post the instructions, but the file is too large to put here. The object of the game is to eliminate as many victims as possible before your chainsaw fuel runs out. You get 1000 points for each victim. You get an award of extra fuel for every five victims you kill. You also have to avoid obstacles (such as cow skulls, wheelchairs, thickets, and fences), which could cause Leatherface to delay and allow his victim to escape. You can mow down thickets with your chainsaw, but this uses fuel. The game is over when you run out of fuel and a survivor comes on the screen to "kick Leatherface in the pants" (as the instruction book says.)

Hell yeah! That was hilarious. If I had known about this article, I would have just posted the link myself instead of uploading all those images. Damn me.

I'm a huge fan of that site. I just happened to read that one time, and then this thread made me remember it :)

I hate to be the one to say it, but..

His chainsaw looks more like a dick than a chainsaw.
