Recent viewings

Okay, i know i start one of these at least once a month after watching a shitload of movies, so why should now be any different. here are some movies i have viewed recently, most for the first time:

Nightmare Before Christmas (Ive seen it before, but its the only musical that doesnt make me sick)
Out of time. Not bad. not great, but not bad.
Gothika. Also not great, but not bad. very so-so.
Big Fish. Excellent. loved it. Tim Burton is the man, and so is Ewan Mcgreggor.
Mona Lisa Smile. Quite good for a chick flick. Who knew Kirsten Dunst could play such a bitch. Jesus christ i just wanted to punch her through 90% of it. i guess that is a testament to her talent, because I always like her, and I hated her.

Secret Window. Pedictable, done before, but I really liked it anyway. Johnny depp rules. John Tuturo rules. Charles S Dutton rules. Timothy Hutton is good. It had the balls to have a twisted fucking ending. i really liked it. Felt bad for the dog, though.

I saw Secret Window last month.......gotta love dsl downloads.
I agree it was predictable and I also agree that Johnny Depp elevated the movie beyond its capacity.
I also watched Butterfly Effect recently.....pretty good, original, some plot holes but over all worth watching.
I got a few more on my computer that I haven't watched yet.
Street Trash...I actually have seen this years ago on VHS, low budget but very effective horror/comedy. Also one from Australia called UNDEAD that I haven't watched. And seeing that this thread is called Recent Viewings I don't know why I'm telling you this.

Hey, all of my thread titles are merely loose guidelines. At least you were talking about movies :)

Aswang --- great film. My new favorite.
The Last House on the Left --- I watched this for the first time because of reccomendations from folks at this site. That movie was terrible.
Blair Witch 2 --- never saw it before. Wished I didn't watch it when I did.
50 First Dates --- Starts off as a rather crude, typical Sandler movie ... then becomes something else. I was pleasantly surprised.
The 13th Child: The Legend of the Jersey Devil --- Not the worst horror film I've seen, but pretty damn bad.

I've seen plenty of others in the past month ... but none that are really noteworthy (mainly because I can't remember the titles.)

I agree with stingy on Last house. Mr Nightmare on Elm street and Mr Friday the 13th really seemed to want to get their jollie soff on that one... I imagine it hurt their chances of getting a date....
