Need Help w/Obscure 70's Movie

Here is a tough one (maybe). I saw a horror movie in the theater in the late 70's and the plot had something to do with a person mysteriously sitting in the window on the top floor of a building. At the end of the movie it is revealed that this person is there guarding the entrance to hell and the good person that discovers this then has to stay there for all eternity to guard the entrance or all of hell's nasties will get out into the world. Does anyone know the name of this movie? I know that it isn't a very well known title.

It's called THE SENTENAL. dame good movie I liked the paet where she finally finds out that all the tenents are dead!!!
