The Game Trailers / Demo / Lookout thread
Ok, so we'll see if we can keep this alive for a bit.
If there's ANY game trailers, or demos that you've seen, or played and think that other gamers up in here should know about it, post it in here. Also, this can also be a place to come and ask for info on upcoming titles to see if anyone in here knows about 'em/can provide links...etc. My first one is for the upcoming FPS "F.E.A.R"That's First Encounter Assault Recon., an excellent, scary looking game at that. I have already posted this one in another thread, but will again in case anybody missed it http://www.sierra.com/product.do?gamePlatformId=1833 For those of you that saw the last one, there is a new one below, with more ingame footage. http://media.pc.ign.com/media/681/68...html?fromint=1 Looks fucking incredible...the bullet time in an fps should be very interesting. Enjoy... So...trailers, demos worth downloading, questions...anyone?? - B. |

Call of duty 2!!!
I didn't even know they were making it, the first one is one of my favourite FPS games in history. Here's a snippet from gamespy explaining some developments/improvements in the game "To help bring these battles to life, the Infinity Ward team is pumping up a "battle chatter" system that kicks in when the shooting starts. According to Collier, this system came out of the research they'd been doing with military experts. "One of the things they brought up is the fact that, once the first shot is fired, people are talking," says Collier. "They're yelling to each other, 'I'm reloading,' 'There's enemies over there,' 'We're being flanked,' so we've brought in a context-sensitive battle chatter system." Sure enough, it seemed everyone was yelling out information to each other throughout the battle, and this extends to the enemies. "For anyone who can understand German, the enemies are doing the same thing," ...So, more realism this time round...shit, the first one was hardcore, I'll say this game is gonna make my top 5 FPS list. Oh yeah, and there's like a D-DAY: Take Two scene, described here: "In one of the more memorable videogame moments we've seen in a while, dozens of soldiers began scaling the cliff via rope as bullets and bombs dropped around them. The "shellshock" effect returns from Call of Duty, with the color and sound draining for a few seconds as your character tries to recover from a nearby explosion. Finally, our character grabs a rifle begins to climb one of the ropes up the cliff as bodies drop around you. It's an epic scene, and yet turned out to be just the beginning of the mission." Oh, and good news - FULL campaigns for American, British and Russian troops: "Like the original Call of Duty, CoD2 will be broken up into three campaigns -- American, British and Russian -- but this time you'll be able to jump between campaigns freely. You'll start your training in 1941 as part of the Russian campaign, after which you can jump to the British campaign, and then to the American or back to the Russian campaign if you want. "Realistically, I think most people will play through the entire Russian campaign before moving on to the British," says Infinity Ward's Vince Zampella, "but if you get to a point where you're banging your head against the wall, it lets you take a step back and try something else." ok, that's all I'll post about it for now...FULL info, and a few screenshots can be found over at gamespy. It looks good, and very good. I remember the first one, IMO the most impressive war related game I've EVER played, the music, atmosphere, the intense battles, the realistic sound, a fully immersive experience, I hope they can work the same magic the second time around...of course, there's yet another medal of honour game coming out right about the same time...I hope the competition boosts the quality of each respective title. So, COD2....ANYONE else looking foward to this game? Last edited by ChEEbA; 06-04-2005 at 08:43 PM. |

Soul Calibur 3 in action!!! "The unholy sword was sealed by the destined one, but a mysterious individual has revived the azure knight, Nightmare. Now the legendary battle of Soul Calibur and Soul Edge continues with the PlayStation 2 exclusive, Soulcalibur III. Which sword will ultimately prevail? To find out, players can assume the role of more than 20 classic characters and three new ones as they follow their fate in the Tales of Souls. Users can even battle it out against their friends in the ever-popular versus match or create their own original characters with Creation mode. For the ultimate challenge, gamers can even rise through the ranks in the World Competition mode and explore the history of past Soulcalibur games with in the Museum. " This is my favourite fighting series, has been ever since Soulblade on ps1...here's hoping they keep the quality as consistant as it has been thus far. More news,
Just a title that looked "interesting" to me. "Bad Day L.A." "Bad Day L.A. centers on a self-centered chap named Anthony Williams, who, as McGee describes it, is "homeless by choice." After giving up a job as a Hollywood agent, he wants nothing more than to be left alone. Unfortunately, things are about to get ugly. "We've got the city of Los Angeles on the worst possible day in its history," explains McGee. "Every single conceivable disaster you can think of befalls the city in one 12-hour period." If you think fires, earthquakes, meteor showers, and terrorist attacks are bad, that's just the beginning. "One of the last disasters that strikes is that the Mexican army invades the city," says McGee. It's enough to make a season of 24 sound like a vacation. It's hardly as grim as it sounds, however. In fact, the game has a colorful, cartoonish style that the developers refer to as "superflat," and an equally colorful array of supporting characters. One character has a leafblower and a chainsaw he uses as weapons. A Paris Hilton parody named Beverly carries around mace, pepper spray and a little yappy dog to attack people. Another kid is actually a zombie who fights for you and bites people, and Sarge is, as McGee explains it, "the worst combination of Arnold Schwarzenegger and George Bush." HELLGATE: London
"London Bridge is falling down, and it's not alone. The Thames River is a strip of mud choked with debris, Parliament is a wreck, and Big Ben looms alone over a shattered city. Fires burn perpetually amongst the rubble and the sky above is a pale green soup. The Hellgate has opened, and only a handful of humans survive in the demon-infested aftermath. Fortunately, they have big guns. Lots of 'em. It was nearly two years ago that a talented team of Blizzard employees -- responsible for Diablo and Diablo II among others -- struck out on their own and founded Flagship Studios. Their first game may look wildly different, but it doesn't fall too far from the tree: Hellgate: London plays like a first-person Diablo. You'll mow down hordes of demons and collect phat lewt at a blistering pace, advancing your character as you explore the twisted remains of London." Did you all get that? IT PLAYS LIKE A FIRST PERSON DIABLO!!! How fucking cool... Anyways, the screens look incredible too, the full article with shots is over at gamespy: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/hellgate-london/613487p1.html |

First of all...I wonder if this game could ever live up to the greatness that was Marvel VS Capcom 2?
Check out the screenshots, it looks great! http://media.xbox.gamespy.com/media/...26/imgs_1.html Although there's no marvel characters this time around, it still looks very good, and has many of capcoms finest, not to mention a few obscure kinda characters...always cool. - B |
