It says: 11 members and 96 guests.

Can we guess that 99.9% of the "guests" are spambots? I feel bad for all you mods - you have your work cut out for you! And I, for one, appreciate everything you do!

Wow! I hope not. Though it looks like over half of the members listed at the moment are spambots. The names listed are mostly gibberish.

Hmmm - I don't think that you can be a guest to post, to be honest... I think that Spambots would have to be an actual member.

Guests can, however, click on links, and that is the purpose of all this spamming- to provide links to websites, and then provide traffic to those sites so they can rise in search engine rankings.

Spambots not only post threads they also post visitor messages to themselves, and then armies of bots come to click on those links. I delete spammy visitor messages when I find them, so there's nothing for the bots to click on when they get here, however, if they happen to join when I'm not around, I'll miss it and their mission is completed.

There are thousands of these bots and their armies registered here.

Weird - I knew that there were bots that post messages, but I didn't know that there were bots designed to click on links in those messages... To what end? So that link traffic goes up? Does that somehow help drive traffic to those sites?

Yes, as I said- to help their search engine ranking. Higher traffic sites appear higher in search results.

It's all part of a huge undercover conspiracy - machines ready to take over the world.

Somewhere...out there...are millions and millions of bots invading the cyberspace, like viruses.

Bots that create, bots that sustain, bots that post links, bots that click on links, bots that visit bots' pages, bots that spawn new bots, bots that destroy normal links/pages...and on and on.

Someday we will all wake up from our hypersleep, to find that we are all plugged into the machines as well!
