The Demonologists

Director Dennis Iliadis (Last House on the Left) has signed on to direct The Demonologists.

The film tells the story of “a family of veteran ghost hunters who get more than they bargained for when they are called in to face what they soon realize is not a routine ghost job but a demon infestation.”

The film will be written by Teddy Tenenbaum, whose previous credits include a few episodes for the television series Ghost Whisperer and Dead Zone.

Joel Silver's Silver Pictures is developing.

Iliadis has been considering a number of projects, including The Birds remake at Platinum Dunes, but not much progress has been made on that, and another thriller called Pay the Ghost. This sounds like it has a unique concept, and something that hopefully won't be messing with "found footage" or a documentary style again, and will just be a straight forward feature.
