Ok Honestly: the Friends clip was the best bit....

But random shots with no narrative really don't 'hook' any one unless you have good visuals/editing/production which you don't...

I guess you're looking for the Blair Witch/paranormal activity look but for the most part shakey cam hype doesn't work..

Not that you will reply but do u have any footage/script not shown in the 'trailer' ?

I would prob only watch it online, not pay any sort of money.

Was this shot on a cell phone? What's the premise? Why must you put that incessant "Base on a True Story" crap in there? Might not be horrible if you help it out a little.

I want to be supportive because I'm a no-budget filmmaker myself, but that is really not a very good trailer for several reasons.

1- We can't tell anything about the plot.
2- The girls screams are annoying.
3- The video quality is terrible. If that's in any cinemas on July 21st, I'll.... Well, it won't be.
4- You can't use a Friends clip unless you purchased it, which I'm sure you didn't because if you could have afforded that then you could have afforded better equipment and professional actors.

Now, the good news is that most of the problems mentioned above are easily corrected. Lose the Friends clip completely. Add some background music for atmosphere (but nothing copywritten). Don't have the voiceover whispering and then the girl screaming, try to keep the audio more level than that. Unless you really did shoot it on a cell phone, I'm sure you can get a better picture than that from your footage so I'd recommend re-uploading everything at a higher resolution and then re-editing the trailer to give us a sense of the plot. Use better title fonts.

If this is your first film, don't let the feedback you're getting here discourage you. Just recognize the fact that your first film won't be very good and approach it as a learning experience. (Don't worry, no one's first film is very good.) Your second will be 10 times better because of what you learn going through the process of writing, directing, shooting, editing, etc...

For people who saw the trailer i posted before on here and gave negative feedback, can i ask if you would watch the film based on the summary of it. People who havent, be greatful if you could contribute.

I want to know if you would watch the film based on the summary and if the trailer does it any justice?

Contructive Critiscism would be nice.

SUMMARY:

Blackout 18

Jasmine lives with her Mum, Dad and two Brothers. She studies Criminology at University; her mother is a Nurse and works long hours during the night. Her father and brothers work together running the family building company.
Her Father has a basement which is always locked and only he and her Brothers can go in there. She is home alone one night watching television and she BLACKS OUT and wakes up in a room with a Fridge, a Meat chopper and a Bath she screams and run up the stairs, to discover the door is locked.
She screams and suddenly it hit her, this was her house and she was in the Basement she was never allowed in, but how did she get there?

She goes back down the stairs and is back in the same room she was before, she sees a door opposite her and opens it to be greeted with the most vile and putrid smell ever to touch her nostrils. Inside stretched a long tunnel; she decides to follows the tunnel and finds a room filled with bodies, the majority of them missing Limbs.
She hears someone coming and hides under the corpses.
It’s Jasmine’s Dad, he picks up a body from the tunnel, just nearly sighting his Daughter and then heads back out of the tunnel and shuts the door.
Jasmine stays hiding, she hears banging and thinks her Dad has gone.
She walks through the tunnel and opens the door and her Dad and eldest Brother are eating the flesh from the body her Father had just selected.

Jasmine’s Dad had known she was in there and was just playing mind games with her, after all he was the one who made her Black out and wake up in the Basement.
She screams and BLACKS OUT again, she wakes up to her Dad and Brother putting needles into her.
She tries to scream and move out of the bath they had put her in, but she can’t open her mouth or move her body. The Brother comes down the stairs and tells the Dad and other Brother to leave her alone tonight and not to kill her. The Dad ignores him and wants to eat some of her, so the Dad and eldest Brother slice off her hand and sickly eat her hand.
Dazed and in unbearable pain Jasmine then hears her Mum come in and so the Dad and Brother quickly leave and retreat upstairs and leave Jasmine in the Basement for dead.

Her younger brother appears in the middle of the night and tells her they’ll run away to London and he is so sorry.
Jasmine still can’t move and therefore he carries her to his car and they travel to London. They stay at a hotel and days go past and she gradually begins to become un-paralysed, he tries to justify everything.
She builds up his trust so he thinks he’s forgiven and then kills him when he comes home from shopping.
Her Mum must be worried sick she thought, after all she had been missing for a numerous amount of days, so Jasmine travels back home and goes to her Mum’s work and tells her everything, distraught and scared stiff about her Dad and Brother finding her, they call the Police and get them locked away for as long as possible.
