I could take or leave most of those flicks on your list tbh with the exception of Paranormal Activity, The Mist and Let The Right One In.

Off the top of my head a handful of the best ones for me would be:

Inside
The House Of The Devil
Pontypool
Mum & Dad
Gutterballs

You're right about The Orphanage (for some reason I thought it was released in 2005). Excellent Movie. [Rec] or Quarantine (as the two films are virtually identical) is also worth seeing.
Even though it's not strictly a horror movie, I felt I should mention The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Absolutely top-notch.

  • Borderland
  • Mulberry Street
  • 28 Weeks Later
  • The Signal
  • Trick R Treat
  • [rec]

  • Bug
  • Fido
  • Planet Terror
  • Severance
  • Murder Party
  • The Cabin
  • Sunshine
  • Death Proof

Trick R Treat and 28 Weeks Later are also very good films. The Grindhouse duo seemed to be in a category all its own, so I didn't think to count it.

I must try to catch Inside. I've heard a lot of positive things about it.

It's absolutely fantastic - HIGHLY recommend it!

Also - Forgot: House of the Devil. Finally watched it the other week. It's brilliant.
