I went to a pub around the corner from me tonight to see one of my alltime faveorite live bands from Australia. That band was the Drones. It is a little venue in the basement of the pub, it probably holds 60 - 70 people jam packed if that. But the support band they had with them from Perth in Australia is what blew me away.
I hadn't heard them before, but it was the most passionate live set I have seen for a long time, though most of the energy came from one of the members who was a multi instrumentalist and switched between opartic howls and demonic screams within seconds... it still fucking blew my mind. I chatted with the drummer afterwards, he said they are living in London for a while, so there should be some U.K and Euro gigs coming up. Go see them if you can. http://www.myspace.com/thesnowmanempire
