The NeverEnding Story remake

This never ends.

The NeverEnding Story is set to do just that, with Warner Bros. preparing to shoot a remake of the fantasy adventure.

Two production companies (The Kennedy/Marshall Co. and Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way) are currently in talks to oversee the project, with plans to revive the franchise with a modern spin.

Based on Michael Ende's novel, the 1984 film revolves around a young boy who discovers a parallel world called Fantasia when reading the titular tome. Following the adventures of warrior boy Atreyu, he soon finds himself transported into the story.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the remake will "examine the more nuanced details of the book that were glossed over in the first pic."

The project is in the early stages of development, however, with no writer or director yet attached.

Seems like the child inside my soul just started crying...and wont stop. :(

Well if its going to be that traumatic to you why bother watching it? Its not like remakes erase the original film.

Neverending's rise to fame as a internet radio show DJ could be an excellent watch :)

I'll give this a shot.

I'm not looking forward to the magic of Hensons puppetry possibly being turned into shitty CGI. Especially one of my favorite characters of all time.

What did Jim Henson have to do with The NeverEnding Story?

Am I misinformed that while Henson did nothing for the movie himself, his creature shop did a good share of the puppetry?
