Thumbs up Hello, Cruel World

I am a student in Central Florida who is an aspiring freelance journalist and copy editor. I found this nifty site by surfing the Web. I think it is a great way to possibly add to my "clips" since one can submit articles and reviews. Plus, this is all about horror, my absolute favorite genre!

I tend to favor older horror movies like "Night of the Living Dead," "The Mephisto Waltz" and the original '60s verson "The Haunting," but I happen to love "The Others" with Nicole Kidman.

As books go, I count (Count--get it?) among my favorite authors Bram Stoker, H.P. Lovecraft, Poe and Shirley Jackson (Gotta love "The Lottery").

Anyway, great to get to know other horror lovers!

Welcome,
Yeah the lottery really rocks. I think it be sweet if someone made a movie out of it. Has there ever been one made?

There's been two that I've actually seen. One was a short film that was true to the short story. I saw it in 8th grade, which was many moons ago...

The other one was based on "The Lottery" but was way cheesy. It was on either ABC, NBC or CBS a few years back. It focused on--I guess the son--who had lost his memory, so he goes back to where he's from and is eventually horrified to see all the graves with the same date of death, even his mother's and then of course the woman he loves consequently dies in the lottery.
