Tats

So I'm gonna be celebrating my birthday by going to a skating rink and then getting a tattoo.
Lol.
I feel young.

I need tat ideas.
Where, what, and how big?

Having virgin skin, I'm going to think this out really well for the next 3 1/2 weeks, or just not get it.

Help!!!

Get something that means something to you. Or at least something that you are affiliated with or have a good deal of interest in. I've wanted to get a tat for a while now and have come up with tons of ideas..only I do not have any artistic ability and I want to be able to just walk in with what I want. I need to find some one who would be willing to draw for me.

If you are afraid of the pain, I'd make certain to avoid area where the skin is close to bone (wrists, ankles, breastbone, hips, shoulderblade) as this hurts a lot more than tattooing over muscle (biceps, calf, thigh, forearm)

Go big! most people's first tattoo is something they love for a while, but almost always wish it was bigger. Get color. Do your research, find the best tattoo artists around you.

And like hacelikewoah says, get something personal - you don't need to have artistic ability either. Go to your artists BEFORE your appointment and give him/her your concept... the artist (if he/she is worth a damn) should be able to sketch out your idea before hand - that way you can make any adjustments BEFORE making it permanent.

Yeah, see my fianceis an artist. I just have to come up with what I want him to draw.
I'm stuck though.

The places I've kinda thought of are my hip, my side, or my pelvic bone.
Either something little or something really gorgeous.

This was one of my ideas:

I know how you feel when it comes to first tattoo decisions and nerves. I celebrate my bday at the end of January and want to go get a tattoo.

http://www.bmezine.com/tattoo/A80213...-my-anchor.jpg

I want something like that, that I can show off with when I wear pretty shoes. Same place, still anchors, but rounder and girlier. Something very retro though. I've been researching for about 2 years to finally know for sure what I want and the anchors have a double meaning. I live at a port, and there are boats going through every day. I couldnt imagine not being so close to the canal. Anchors also represent the people who ground you so I'll always remember home and the people who are here.

I hope you find something you really like :)

That's a cute idea with the anchors and your connection.
