Suicide Girls ..... aaahhhhhhhhhhhhh

I have to admit... from the limited exposure I had in the past - i pretty much wrote the Suicide Girls off as little waifish goth and bettie page wannabes ... but now I'm eating my words - without ketsup.

i have a friend who's been contemplating submitting photo sets for some time, so i thought i'd join to check things out, and have since fallen in love with about 400 of the girls on there. (aesthetically speaking ... they're all way too young for the likes of me to do anything but admire from a distance)

I still think in many cases the ink and piercings are a bit excessive.
Kind of like throwing paint on an already perfectly complete canvas ... but i can live with it :)

One of the things that i really like is the playfullness... unlike porn shots where girls turn themselves inside out with a leering 'come fuck me' look on their faces the SG girls are alluring - yet playful. Even the more explicit stuff is for the most part more playfull than 'dirty'

I'd love to do this as a photographers gig. There is a trend to be more inventive in the photoshoots. A chance to use a lot of imagination and cool backdrops ..

mind you this is often pushed too far in some photosets - it shouldnt take the focus off of the girl - and sometimes this happens on SG.

first and formost - the girl is the most incredible piece of art in any of the pictures and to me anything distracting from that is a waste :)

anyway - this is nothing more than a love struck fan letter to the lovely women on that site from a recent convert ..

feel free to add your thoughts - even if you disagree :)

(aint gonna change my mind none !)

Even the simplest of dresses, and the plainest of poses...

No distractions. At all.

With Photoshopping and Image softwares abounding everywhere, most photographers dont bother with backgrounds much these days. Click, click, click...and off to their comps they go.

I for one would love to see those long outdoor photosets they did about 8-10 years back - on cliffs, beaches, the sea, evening backdrops etc. They still do it, but it has come down remarkably.

There's nothing better than seeing beauty against the backdrop of natural art. It enhances the overall beauty of the photos many times over. And of course, it is a showcase for the talents and the eye of the photographer, too.

if you like Suicide Girls, you should check out God's Girls http://www.godsgirls.com/ (not what it sounds like) or if you really want some fun wierdness, check out Headsick Pinups - they're sexy & gorey! http://headsickpinups.com/

and yes, these sites have nudity - so don't click if you don't like that kind of stuff!

While I'm not saying...I wouldn't...in regards to quite the few SGs, gotta say they're (the majority) a little skinny and well, lacking in the tit and hip department for my liking...
