Books to movies.....so on and so on......

Hey my long lost HDC peeps! I know it's been a while since I have graced you with my presence!! And what better way to restart my HDC career than by posting a new thread!

So, I wanna know your opinions on................What is the best book you have read that was made into a movie?:) What movie adapted from a book just majorly let you down and frankly just heavily sucked ass???

Fahrenheit 451 was made into a pretty good movie. War Of The Worlds (George Pal) was another. Winds Of War, a brilliant novel, was made into a mini-series for television but I only saw part of it. My two top favorite books, The Lost World (Doyle of course) and Watership Down were made into movies but I never saw the latter and only saw the former when I was very young and liked anything I saw.

Something Wicked This Way Comes was a disappointment on film though the book was great and Dune failed on the screen also though I never got around to reading the book.

With the quality fx available to film makers today someone needs to remake The Lost World. :)

I think Clockwork Orange was an excellent adaptation as was the original version of Lord of the Flies.
