Do you enjoy going to your local cinema or renting/ watching movies regularly? What is your favourite horror movie that you’ve seen within the last few years? What level of ‘Gore’ are you interested in? None Mild gore Plenty of gore Extreme gore What kind of horror movie creature would you find the scariest? Do you find music gives too much away during a horror movie? Do you enjoy special effects etc. why? What was the most recent horror movie you have seen? What would you rate it out of 10? I'm just a newbie on here, but shouldn't this thread be in the general forum or something?
Any way: How old are you? - 17 What is your gender? - Female What is your nationality? - "African American" What is your favourite movie genre? --Romance-Drama What would be your favourite movie? Please explain why. --Favorite Horror (The Leprechaun Series-I can't remember how many there are now) but this is my favorite horror movie because I have quite a few things in common with him. We're both short, we both have/like jewelry, we both enjoy rhyme. Although I don't have as much "shilling" as he does I'm cool with people unless they steal from me like him, and I also like the fact that even though he's a horror villain he doesn't look as "remotely gory" or disturbing as other characters do. I also love how he's not the stereotypical "Grr....Die, die, die," persona. He's a villain...but he has charm and wit. Which is VERY APPEALING to me. Besides those minor details, I generally like the plot of the stories. --But that's favorite horror. My favorite period is Titanic--just like I said before my favorite genre is drama, especially drama-romance. Then you add the remarkable work done by the costume and set designers, in addition to Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprios extraordinary performances as Jack and Rose. In my opinon, it was worth every penny from the 300 billion dollars it made within the past 10 years. Do you enjoy going to your local cinema or renting/ watching movies regularly? --Yes, starting to get back into that habit What is your favourite horror movie that you’ve seen within the last few years? --I haven't seen much horror. I'm just starting to get influenced by it so for me it's "Leprachaun in the Hood (2000) What part of the movie did you enjoy the most and why? --The part how every female he "attacks" gets "possessed" and their "evil eyes" have some kind of transmitting device; then they become his "posey" as he raps his song, "I'm Lep in the Hood, Come to do no Good" I thought that was awesome. Was it scary and if so what made it scary? --Kind of difficult question for me, because at the time I was easily terrified by the horror genre. I guess a scary part to me was when Leprachaun found the group of "unknown" rap artists who stole some of his riches, they ran in a church to be "saved." The pastor guy comfronted Leprechaun and Leprachaun pulled his insides completely out of his stomach and chest. No shooting--no stabbing--he just pulled them out. It was pretty "gory" and scary to me, at the time. Do you feel lighting and camera work is key to a good horror movie? ---Oh absolutelty! Lighting and camera work is excellent for any kind of production--Stage or film. It plays a critical role in depicting what the character on film or stage may can physically, but the character themself may not be aware of (in the storyline yet). I'm no director (yet) but with four years of high level drama courses I've wittnessed it personally. In my opinion, for horror or ambiguous productions lighting any camera isn't good--it's vital. :) What level of ‘Gore’ are you interested in? None. Not that I won't check out any thing that is, I'm just not a big fan. I imagine through becoming friends of others on this site they can recommend certain things to me and as I "level up" I can get introduced to it more. What kind of horror movie creature would you find the scariest? ---Again, a newbie haven't seen much; but I guess Freddy Kruger, or Pumpkinhead, they both terrorized me when I was younger. The only reason I wouldn't mind watching Freddy now is because my dad has a collection of The Night Mare on Elm Street and all the other things Freddy was in. For me personally, Freddy gets "cool points" for wearing the hat and stripes--because at least he was color-coordinated and didn't fit the stereotype of a medicore horror villain of "Ger Ger Ger!" and looked hideous as well as "predictable." :D Do you find music gives too much away during a horror movie? --Only if it's Cheesy--but that I mean the orginal stereotype jaws classic "duh da duh da duh da..." or the high-pitched, "violin-screeching" sound in "Scream 1" Do you enjoy special effects etc. why? --Yes and I say that grudgingly so. Because I'm a big fan of theatre arts, and it's something I take seriously, balance is a must for emphasis. Special effects are okay; but only if 1.) it doesn't give away plot or character revelation and 2.) if it doesn't distract the audience from the story actors are telling with their bodies and voices. I like movies, I like special effects. I was born in the 1990s even ! :D However, at times with how technically advanced this world is, when special effects are "overdone"- it a.)spoils us from exposure to true art b.) insults directors and actors whom bust their butts to give great performances to you for 2-3 hours and all you talk about after the show is that 25 second explosion of a car wreck 3.) At times it can undermine the point of us seeing shows and movies--to isolate us at a different enviroment for 2 hours--get away from our world and problems, not get mental orgasms of special effects and gadgets. What was the most recent horror movie you have seen? --The Seed of Chucky (2005 maybe?) What would you rate it out of 10? --That was a while ago, since I saw it. I guess 4/5 Do you prefer reality films or science fiction? Why? --Reality films. No offense against sci-fi fans, but it never interested me. What kind of location would you think best suits a horror movie? Please specify. --That's difficult. I imagine if there's different theories of acting, there's different theories or subcatergories even of horror. So it depends on that. But I think any big, wide open space. Don't know where--again depends on individual film, but the bigger the space--the more room to work with. The more room to work with, the more freedom the actors and director has to come up with a concept. But I imagine--big space and lots of freedom would be elements a director would trade in sometimes for a budget. How would you rate this questionnaire? --8.5/10 Any additional comments? Great....you had me explain...nothing's ever simple for me. I have an explanation behind everything. :D And Your Welcome.

The more things change the more they stay the same. I don't hold much hope.
