Let the Right One In remake - Let Me In

Yep.

You read that right.

I just had to post this because I'm so mad.
Hey, ignorant assholes...go watch the original!
There are other languages than English, you know.

Ugh, what a waste of money.

I think Asylum have this sort thing down right - They remake the film (well sorta) before the original comes out :-)

Haha, yeah. They're good at that.

However, this isn't that sort of thing. This is just so stubborn Americans who "don't feel like reading subtitles" can be lazy and just watch the remake.

Ugh! This stuff makes me so mad.

Jesus christ! I've been waiting for the Swedish one to come out. I wish would stop remaking stuff and just let us see the foreign films and appreciate them for what they are!

Btw, has anyone read the book that this movie is based on? I've been waiting for it to come in at Barnes & Nobles. :o

Amen, sister. I hear you.
Completely asinine.

No, but I really want to.
I might have to check for it next time I make a bookstore stop.

yeah - i understood it with the japanese films ... there wasnt a lot of exposure to foreign horror outside of the hard core fans so there was an understandable excuse for remaking them.

remaking foreign films had been done for a long time .

but now .. with DVDs and subtitles, and the ease of access to these foreign origionals - it just seems like arrogance and ignorance at this point.

And this is why I come to this place...

I had never even heard of this film. After reading the plot, I must see it. Then I can join in on the hate (for the remake, that is).

Exactly. That's how I feel. This day and age there's really no excuse for it.

It IS fantastic, won the first prize for non-asian movie at the Fantasia Festival this year, ahead of REC and deservedly so. And I'm betting that a crucial moment of the movie will be cut out because it will be judged "immoral" for american audiences...

Excellent. Glad to read yet another good review of this film.
However, I'd find it incredibly surprising if any scenes were cut for the American theatrical release. The remake, I'm sure, will have stuff changed/removed, but hopefully not the release.

At any rate, I'll have to send you a message when I see it, to see if this scene you're talking about was indeed cut out.
