Audience Applause Moments

What are some film moments where the audience went nuts in the theater and applauded or cheered? The most recent I witnessed was the scene right when *spoiler* the truck flips and Batman's Batpod rides straight up the wall, turns, and slams onto the ground, with Bats looking truly pissed off and triumphant. Everyone clapped. Anything you guys have witnessed?

The audience applauded at the end of The Dark Knight at the showing I went to last night.

The only other time I've heard an audience applaud was during Episode One when Queen Amidala makes her first appearance.

**HUGE Dark Knight spoiler***

Dark Knight - The only time that my theatre really stood up and cheered was when Gordon revealed himself. I think it gets overshadowed by all the other awesomeness in the movie, but that was a super powerful scene.

Without a doubt my favourite non-Joker moment in the movie.

I've only witnessed such a thing once and that was back in 2005 on one of my trips to America. It was the "Yellow Space Writing" in Star Wars. To tell the truth I was shocked. I didn't know people did that. We hardly react to films over here other than laughing and jumping at a shocking moment. I've never even seen someone scream at a film. Saw someone be sick once.
