Cabbage Head
So at lunch today the subject of cabbage came up and how I can't stomach the smell of it after this short film I made in college, aptly titled, "Cabbage Head". I have this on VHS somewhere, but I figured I'd check out You Tube since everything seems to be on You Tube these days.
Low and behold, I found it! So this film was shot on 35mm B&W in 2003 and I was the Director of Photography/Assistant Director on the project. The Writer/Director was obsessed with Eraserhead and I think there's definitely some weirdness to this. Cabbage Head is the story of Drew and how he can't seem to talk to girls. One day he meets a French talking cabbage who tries to help. It's kind of a dark romantic comedy with some horror elements to it. We also had a really cool stop-action animation sequence at the end that was cut by hand. Another cool bit was that the guy who played the teacher was an extra in Hellraiser III. Enjoy!
