Indiana Jones 4
From Comic Con, San Diego -
Actress Karen Allen is joining the cast of the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie, reprising her role as spirited Marion Ravenwood from "Raiders of the Lost Ark", it was announced today during Comic-Con International in San Diego. The new movie is in production under the direction of Steven Spielberg, who is busy shooting in Hawaii. The upcoming "Indiana Jones" adventure is a Lucasfilm Ltd. production and is being distributed by Paramount Pictures, and might be called ""Indiana Jones & The City Of The Gods". Frank Marshall returns as producer, with Kathleen Kennedy joining George Lucas as executive producer. It is planned for worldwide release on May 22, 2008. Breaking news about the new "Indiana Jones" movie can be found at http://www.indianajones.com. A couple of photos from on-set here. July 28, 2007 - On July 26, 2007, Steven Spielberg offered a live greeting for San Diego Comicon fans from the set of his new movie, the highly anticipated Indiana Jones sequel. "I'm here on the set of Indiana Jones and the...," Spielberg said evasively as the audience laughed. "I'm just extremely pleased to be able to tell you that after 18 years we actually have completed 25 days of shooting. I never thought this day would come that I could actually sit here and say we're finally making another Indiana Jones movie." "We're having a great time," Spielberg said of the production. "For the last ten or twelve years, I've made a lot of different kinds of movies, many of them films that I really passionately need to make for myself. But this picture, I promise you, I'm making for you guys and girls; this is really all for you. And we're back and we're all in good form," Spielberg said as the camera panned left to reveal Harrison Ford sitting next to him, dressed in Indy's traditionally disheveled costume. Ford seemed genuinely excited to be working on the film. "It's a great pleasure to be back with Steven, back in the sweaty, dirty clothes that Indy always wears, and glad to be making a dynamite movie. I'm so happy about this movie and the people that we have in it." Turning to his left, Ford said, "I want to introduce my sidekick, the venerable, veritable Ray Winstone, who is my sidekick in this film." Spielberg added, "he also plays Beowulf in Bob Zemeckis' film." "I play the good-looking one in that film," Winstone said. Ford responded, "he thinks he's playing the good-looking one in this film too". Pointing to Winstone's left, Ford said, "that's the good-looking one," indicating Shia Le Beouf, who sat in a '50s greaser leather jacket, rolled-up jeans and motorcycle boots. "I don't know what I'm doing in this movie," said Le Beouf as the audience laughed. "I don't know how I'm sitting with all of you. This is insane." "You have a modicum of talent, young man," Spielberg complimented Le Beouf. "We're all here but a lot of other cast members are not working today, so this is what you get. There's just one more thing, if I could," added the director, and walked off camera. He returned with a folding chair, the back of which read "Marion Ravenwood." Karen Allen walked over and sat down in front of the four men. "Hi everyone," Allen said. "It's great to be here on the set of the new Indiana Jones adventure, and great to be back in the boots of Marion Ravenwood. I'm just thrilled to be working with Steven and Harrison and Shia and Ray, and so Comicon is getting the first peek of us all together as a family," she said with a laugh. "We're a little older, a little wiser, a little richer," said Spielberg to the crowd. "But we're really happy to be here, and like I said before, this is all for all of you, and we're making this picture with every single one of you in mind. Every single shot, I'm always thinking, what's the audience going to think? So thank you very, very much, and we're out of here." The lights raise as the sweeping Indiana Jones theme plays over the loudspeakers.

Dope [tentavive] title.
After seeing "Rocky Balboa" I would've said let this classic series saga sleep, but "Live Free Or Die Hard" has given me a new hope. |

Rumors have been swirling about the identity of John Hurt's character in Indiana Jones IV, with speculation pegging him as playing either Albert Einstein or Abner Ravenwood. The Hellboy and Alien actor remained tight-lipped about his role during a recent interview.
In a chat with EmpireOnline.com, Hurt said, "Well, I'm not allowed to tell you about my character -- it's under tight control for good reason. It's not meant to be 'boo to you sucks' type of thing -- it's because it makes sense...and it wouldn't help you to know what I was playing anyway." In related news, Slashfilm.com reports that a scooper sent them a Motion Pictures Association of America Title Registration Report, which apparently revealed six possible titles for Indy IV: Indiana Jones and the City of Gods, Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds, Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold, and Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant. Time will tell which if any is the actual final title.

Since Shia let the pussy out of the pouch already, the official site has revealed that the next instalment of the Indiana Jones adventures will be called…. “Fuck Firewall, this is the real shit right here”. Or not. No, according to Indy’s on-screen son and IndianaJones.com the film will be called “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. That’s kinda cool…. Albeit surprising, since it isn’t one of the many rumoured titles we’ve been hearing for months now. I do wonder whether Lucasfilm started up a few bogus excite email accounts and spammed sites with insider knowledge claiming to know the title of the next “Indy” film and that’s how all the “Indiana Jones and the City of Gods” rumours, and so on, started. LaBeouf announced the title – obviously he was given the thumbs up – at the VMA awards, where he was either presenting an award, hitting on Rihanna, or plugging the film in-between pre-recorded performances. And next year, we’ll find out what the heck this Crystal Skull is….

I remember the crystal skulls from an old episode of IN SEARCH OF...
From WorldMysteries.com Thirteen crystal skulls of apparently ancient origin have been found in parts of Mexico, Central America and South America, comprising one of the most fascinating subjects of 20th Century archaeology. These skulls, found near the ancient ruins of Mayan and Aztec civilizations (with some evidence linking the skulls with past civilization in Peru) are a mystery as profound as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Nazca Lines of Peru, or Stonehenge. Some of the skulls are believed to be between 5,000 and 36,000 years old. Many indigenous people speak of their remarkable magical and healing properties, but nobody really knows where they came from or what they were used for. Were they left behind after the destruction of a previous world, such as Atlantis? Are they simply ingenious modern fakes or can they really enable us to see deeply into the past and predict the future? Much research is currently being done on the skulls. However, their origin is still a baffling mystery. They seem to defy logic. Everything that is known about lapidary work indicates that the skulls should have been shattered fractured, or fallen apart when carved. Oh and I've seen one of the the sets tower over the hill at Universal City. I'll try to snap a pic of it this week:D
