30 days on night

i know that Roderick Usher started a thread about this movie way back when, but it got little response and b/c the movie's release is fastly approaching i thought i'd try to create another dialogue, mostly b/c i am torn w/ anticipation and skepticism.

originally i heard that sam rami was going to direct, but of course he opted to produce and then david slade came on as director. slade did direct "hard candy," which i thought was good, but he also directed the "sour girl" video for awful, stinky, smelly stp. also i'm not crazy about josh hartnett as the lead - would rather have some indie film "no-names." i just hope the script, that's been rewritten twice holds up to the graphic novel.

the trailer looks fucking great and I believe David Slade is going to make a name for himself on this one.

I'm really excited to see this!

also, my ears always perk-up when i hear muse on the soundtrack - it made "high tension" a little bit better for me.

i want it to be good - - - but my prediction (for the record) is that it will suck and tank horribly at the box office

(of course i also boldly predicted that Madonna was a 'one-hit wonder')
