Friday the 13th top 5

Just like Jason, the lists will not die. Today's list deals with the humorous side of the "Friday The 13th" movies. Some hipster doofuses would argue that all the movies are funny, although unintentionally. You know the kind of people. The kind of people that can't like something with out it being ironic, the kind of people who love to say "it's so bad it's good." We're not talking that kind of funn\ny, most of the Jason movies had a good script, with great lines and some genuinely funny moments. Really, if you look at it, the kids in all these movies probably would have had a REALLY good time had it not been for all the killing going on.

5. Crispin’s Dance-“Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter”(1984)

Everyone’s favorite “dead fuck” breaks out in a spastic, almost ritualistic dance. Apparently it was adlibbed by Mr. Glover on the set, but I hear he meant to be watching American Bandstand, but was instead watching something on PBS>

4. The Hitchhiker-“Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter”(1984)

The fourth (but not final) entry in the “Friday The 13th” Saga has several gut busting moments. All this poor hitchhiker wants to do is get a ride, but for looking all flower power, she’s got a bit of an angry streak in here. As the kids drive by and laugh at her she flips her sign around to read “Fuck You” and gives them the finger. On top of all this, the fat girl has to die while eating, it was a banana though, not a Zagnut bar.

3. Enchiladas-“Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning”(1985)

Piss, fart and shit jokes are funny, and in the world of Jason Voorhees, it’s no exception. Demon, Reggie’s older brother has to make a run for the border after some enchiladas in his Chevy van. Poor Demon then dies in the shitbox. “Ooooh baby.”

2. Tonto-“Friday The 13th”(1980)

The original wise guy of the “Friday The 13th” series, paving the way for Ted from Part 2, Shelly from Part III, and Ted from the Final Chapter. Ned comes out in an Indian headdress chanting away until the law informs him to “Sit on it, Tonto.”

1. King Tut-“Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood”(1988)

There usually has to be one nerdy character in a horror flick and Eddie from Part 7 played it out in spades. At the preparation for the birthday party, Eddie covers himself in streamers and states “King Tut rises from the tomb.” I find it to be just that funny, so funny that whenever I see streamers at a party, I feel the need to re-enact this scene. Sadly, Eddie was disposed of by Jason, so we never will see the film version of “Star Mummy.”

Of course, all of these are open up to discusion, let's hear what you have to say and feel free to check out the rest of my Livejournal, I promise not to bore!

Don't forget, if you are in the Chicago area this Friday, May 13th 2005, come down to Haas' Tavern located at 12725 South Western Avenue in Blue Island. My power pop rock and roll band, the Romeros will be playing till all hours of the night. The show is 21 and over and there is no cover! Show starts at 9 PM! Come celebrate Jason's birthday with sex, drugs and rock and roll, all the things Jason and his mommy love!

Fridaythe 13th top5 part 2

Keeping the week of lists going, here is my Top 5 list of the hottest girls of the "Friday the 13th" saga. I hope y'all enjoy. Stay tuned!

5. J.J. Jarrett (Saffron Henderson)–“Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” (1989)

I like rock chicks that play the guitar (not as much as I like rock chicks that play the bass). I especially like TRASHY rock chicks that play the guitar. J.J. had both. Her only problem is excessive soloing. Even Jason knows that songwriting should come before technique, and he’s a harsh critic. Jason is always referred to by the uninformed as an axe-murderer, when in fact he’s usually used a machete. This is one of the few times Jason did use, an axe…get it?

4. Alice Hardy (Adrienne King)-“Friday The 13th” (1980)

On the other end of the spectrum we have Alice, just a cute little girl next door type. Her Dorothy Hamill haircut is a reminder of a decade long gone. She also had very pretty eyes. She gets mad props for surviving the first movie, even though she bites it shortly after.

3. Melissa (Susan Jennifer Sullivan)-“Friday the 13th Part VIII: The New Blood” (1988)

I hate it when horror movies install a “bitch” or “bastard” character that only seems to be there so that the audience can cheer as the villain disposes of them. I find it to be lazy writing, however, if they are all as sexy as Melissa, do it as much as you want Hollywood. Melissa, or as I usually refer to her, “that bitch with the pearls,” is a cruel one, always making fun of poor Tina, but being a typical male, I’ll look past all that just to get a piece. She’s also the second girl on this list to be disposed of with an axe, albeit, a real one.

2. Megan Garris (Jennifer Cooke)-“Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives” (1986)

The only girl on the list to survive, Megan Garris. I like tough chicks. Two of my biggest turn ons are a mind of their own and the ability to drive. Megan displayed both of these traits in spades in this entry. Tommy Jarvis was a lucky, lucky man to have his head between those legs, especially in such a cool fucking car. I like to think the two of them ran away together and had a very happy life.

1. Vicky (Lauren-Marie Taylor)-“Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981)

Vicky, oh how I love you. She may not be the most glamorous Friday the 13th girl, but she is my favorite. She’s brunette, petite and wore a jean jacket with patches on it. TOTALLY rock and roll. I bet she was a big Cheap Trick fan. She was also one of the nicer, most put together girls in the series. Her interest in wheelchair-bound Mark also shows that she may have had a kinky medical fetish, so who knows what else she could have been into. Sadly, she gets all prettied up, even spraying some perfume on her no-no parts just to end up getting stabbed in the leg, and probably several times more. Vicky, I salute you as the sexiest girl of “Friday the 13th.”

Of course, all of these are open up to discusion, let's hear what you have to say, I promise not to bore!

fridaythe 13th top5 part 3

In honor of Friday The 13th coming up, I'm going to be posting some Top 5 lists from one of my favorite movie series of all time, "Friday The 13th." I'll be starting with one of my favorite lists, chronicling my favorite death scenes in a series noted for it's interesting kills. I hope you all enjoy!

5. Triple Decapitation-"Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)"

While playing paintball games in the woods around "Camp Forest Green," some local business people run into Jason Voorhees. Jason immediately disposes of them with a machete, decapitating all three of them at the same time. No remorse for these yuppie scum, they were probally all admired Gordon Gekko and got what they deserved. Points to their friend who attempts to stop Jason with a paintball gun.

4. Double Impalement-"Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981)"

Sandra and Jeff get a classic "Friday The 13th" death as the two of them are skewered by Jason during coitus. There is such symbolism in this scene, penetration and, well, penetration. Jeff deserves it alone for looking like a lame Brian Johnson with that silly ass hat.

3. Corkscrew-"Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter (1984)"

This is a new favorite of mine, it knocked down the previous death in this slot, "Boxing Decapitation" from "Part 8." Nerdy Crispin Glover, the "Dead Fuck" finally gets laid and
apparently is "pretty good." Now all he wants to do is settle down with a bottle of wine, but can't find the corkscrew. Jason, being ever so helpful, finds it for Mr. Glover, stabs him in the hand with it and plants a hatchet right in the head. "Hey Ted, where the hell is the corkscrew?!" indeed.

2. Wheelchair-"Friday The 13th Part 2 (1981)"

The "Friday" series always caught flack for it's casual attitude for sex, however here was a genuine guy, Mark who really seemed to like a VERY cute girl, Vicki. Seriously, the two bond over playing video games, these are nice kids. It's bad enough this guy is in a wheelchair, but Jason has to ruin all his chances for having a fun night by planting a machete right into Mark's head, the worst is yet to come though. The poor guy then rolls backwards down a big flight of stairs in his wheelchair. A very cool death, amplified by the great atmosphere of the stormy night and that classic "Friday The 13th" fade to white that closes out the scene.

1. Sleeping Bag Against A Tree-"Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood (1988)"

What can be said about this death that hasn't been said before. So simplistic and so smart utilizing a classic element of camping in the woods, it's amazing it took this long in the series for it to happen. Judy attempts to hide from Jason in a sleeping bag (the first place I would run to). Jason picks up the bag and slams it against a tree. The uncut scene on the DVD boxset is totally worth checking out. The re-creation of this scene in "Jason X" is the only thing worthwhile in that travesty

Here it is, "The Final Chapter." (Or is it, you never really know with these movies.) Jason, unlike Freddy never had one actor for every movie. This did not detract Jason from becoming a cultural icon. In fact, it was a nice touch as each actor who portayed Jason brought something new to the part. In honor of our birthday boy, here is a list of my 5 favorite Jasons. I hope y'all enjoy! Happy Friday The 13th Everybody!!!

5. Ken Kirzinger-“Jason Vs. Freddy”(2003)

Many fans cried out in rage when it was announced that Kane Hodder would not return for “Freddy Vs. Jason.” I was not all that heartbroken. Many actors have played Jason in the past and everyone has brought something new and interesting to the part. Ken Kirzinger’s turn as Jason was no exception. He brought back the more slender look to Jason that was lost in the Kane Hodder entries. I also liked the addition of the jacket and a return to earth tones in the costume. The stands of hair were a nice touch to give a more grizzled look to our favorite slasher.

4. Warrington Gillette “Friday The 13th Part 2”(1982)

“Part 2” is an interesting film to look at in hindsight. Most people thought Jason coming back to avenge his mother’s death was just a silly idea that would never fly. Years later, we’re still talking about this classic series. Here we have the true introduction as Jason Voorhees as an onscreen villain. His look in this movie is COMPLTELY different than any of the other films, it’s obvious that the filmmakers were really trying to find a classic look that would be remembered. He burlap sack was a nice reference to “The Town That Dreaded Sundown,” and the flannel shirt and overalls added to the mystique of the crazed hillbilly in the woods. The make-up used for Jason’s face is generally not accepted by fans, but I think the grizzled beard and shaggy haired look is probably a more fair assessment of what Jason would actually look like having lived in the woods all those years, he was never told about a Mach 3.

3. Kane Hodder “Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday”(1993)

I was never a terrific fan of Kane Hodder as Jason. He’s an excellent stunt-man and was a great mouth-piece for the series, but I always felt that he was a little too beefy to portray Jason. I always saw Jason as the skinny, fast madman who would take his prey out quickly, not the lumbering beast that would toy with his victims and wrestle with them. That being said, Hodder did do a decent job and the makeup and costuming in “Hell” are fantastic. The idea of the malformed head with the hockey mask being sunk in and becoming a part of Jason was nice, as were the tore up clothes, really giving the appearance of a villain that had been hung, stabbed, drowned and burned.

2. C.J. Graham “Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives”(1986)

This was definitely one of the coolest Jason’s. Jason had more of a streamlined look in this one. C.J. Graham had the opportunity to introduce the world to the new “zombie” Jason as a more efficient, mindless killing machine. The utility belt was a nice touch as it gave Jason a whole arsenal of weapons to do away with his victims.

1. Richard Brooker “Friday The 13th Part III”(1983)

This is the definitive, classic Jason look. Richard Brooker really created the style to play Jason in. Jason in “Part 2” is a bit clumsy while the Jason’s of the Hodder area were a little too big. Brooker played Jason just right. He was tall, slender, and moved FAST. This made Jason all the more scary with his madman run, arms flailing about, grunting and groaning like a wild animal. Jason ditched the hillbilly gear for a more modern work shirt and pants. A nice touch was that the clothes were a bit too small on him to give Jason a larger than life appeal. “Part III” is also the introduction of the hockey mask, a true cultural icon. The mask was used to hide the hideous face that hid underneath, some of the best make up this side of Savini’s work on the series. Makeup, mask, style clothes all add up to the best portrayal of Jason on film.

Of course, all of these are open up to discusion

Honestly, i had some expectations after having seen the first and the second... i didnt realise that they went the way of Jaws and were just shit after the first one. Dear god they were bad.... Not even fun bad...

And how did jason get from a dead retarded kid to a giant zombie? i must have missed that part...

i dont think there are too many people over 17 years of age that actually consider any of them to be good horror films ..

and none of them better have anything bad to say about The Grudge !
