the 'new' hitcher

It was basically the same as the 86' one cept he has a girl with him.. I liked the original better.. and I guess because I saw the old one I wasn't as shocked when some things happened because they kept it almost the same, they pick him up, kick him out, he goes after them, kills a bunch of people, etc.. they even ended up killing him in the same way as the girl in the orignal with the trucks. My boyfriend liked it but he also never saw the orignal. I guess I just really liked C. Thomas Howell as Jim Halsey and Rutger Hauer as John Ryder.

I saw the first 2 minutes of it, then i started doing something else.

I really feel that the battle between C. Thomas Howell and Rutger Hauer made the original a classic. And i'm not just talking about the battle for survival but also the battle in good acting. Absolutely awesome.

In my eyes, both actors best achievement in their carriers.

it reminded me a lot of the fog remake. it made me cringe at the beginning of both films because there is some mainstream pop/punk song playing in both movies. to start a horror film like that is sad.

Rutger Hauer is one of my favorite actors, so I really never had much of a desire to see the remake. And now that I've read the posts here, I really won't bother. :)

Its a remake, not a sequel, if you expected something totally new I have to ask why.

Why remake it in the first place???

It's not like the original is outdated.

But somewhere in hollywood is a person who wants to see all the good ol classic horror movies with young good-looking actors/actresses in the lead roles. Coz that's important.
