Why I liked Cabin Fever

Cabin Fever gave the genre a well needed spankin. That movie was strait up wonderful. Gory, Suspenseful, Disturbing, and it was politically incorrect. Not to mention it was Troma Alumni Eli Roth's first project. Hopefully we will see more of him at work.

What's so wonderful about the movie?? Ok, it featured a whole new look on hoorror movies but it didn't really get the whole horror thing in the bag.. It was boring and it wasn't scary at all.

That's just my opinion... but i've been wrong before.

I don't see most of the newer horror films, and don't like most of what I do see. Cabin Fever was different, IMO. Relentlessly gross, especially for a major release. Very depressing in many ways yet also very funny.

It was a much better satire on the horror genre than something like Scream, which just bugged the crap out of me.

What? Rider Strong gets no love? He has the best 'porno' name of all the teen idols! I haven't seen it either I'll rent it sometime I guess. My friends gave it very mixed reviews.

I agree. How can a guy named Rider Strong NOT make porno?!?!? I thought the movie was cool both as an exploitation film and as a homage to "stalked in the woods" horror movies. Remember the reference to I Spit On Your Grave, when the girl rides up in a canoe just like on I Spit, then when she gets out the camera zooms in on her swaying hips and goes into slo-mo to recreate the I Spit poster? Now that's a cool reference. It also threw in some Raimi shaky cam, and there were Shimps and Fake Shimps listed in the credits. And how can you not love a movie that has a soundtrack done by DAVID HESS?!?!? When the kids ride up in the van at the first of the movie with The Road Leads To Nowehre playing on the radio, I about lost my f'in' lunch. That was so damn cool!

"Pancakes!!!"

Bwahaha!

Only you, AbbyComix, only you...

Anyways, "Rider Strong" might have a good name for the porn biz, but don't forget about his co-star in "Boy Meets World," with an equally great name for dirty movies....

Ben Savage!
