Cannibal Holocaust Cut Version Question

From what I have heard in 2001 this movie was released with all the animal cruelty scenes cut out, is this true? If so where could I get this film?

Dont quote me on this as I cant seem to find proof anywhere, but when it was released I heared that the fairly recent special editions contained both the unrated and cut versions. Like I say, I could be wrong...

Heres the Amazon link:

http://www.amazon.com/Cannibal-Holoc...3585076&sr=8-2

I believe the 2 disc grindhouse release allows you to play the movie without the animal killings.

Yeah, you can watch it in it's uncensored state, or with the animal kills cut out.
