HorrorFest Films

Alright, does anyone remember the films they put in theater's on November 17 last year? Well, it seems they are re-releasing one of them titled "The Abandoned". The bad thing is, it's now rated R. It was previously unrated. And now I am curious as to if we'll see the original versions of any of the Horror Fest films on DVD anytime soon? I want to see the uncut versions, not the damn rated shit.

I also must add, these horror films looked like they may actually be worth seeing. Is there anywhere online I can find these for viewing or download that isn't some shitty cam version?

I'm not sure that it was ever under any other title other than "The Abandoned." It's a Spanish film, so I guess you could have been thinking of Los Abandonados?

Anyway, it's directed by Nacho Cerda, who is the sick genius behind Genesis/Aftermath. Whether you think that's a good think or a bad thing is up to you.

No no, I know that's what it was titled. I just noticed last night that they slapped an R rating on it.

Whoops, I misread your first post:p

I've been out of the theater business for quite awhile, but I'm guessing that most theater chains still refuse to carry unrated movies. That always irked me. Not because they don't want to bother with the hassle of IDing everyone; we still did that for hard R movies like South Park. They think if they allow unrated movies into their theaters it will create a 'family unfriendly' environment.

I haven't seen any DVD release dates yet. I'm sure since Lion's Gate has it though it'll get a nice unrated release.

I didn't get to see any of them in the theater but is possible they released them as "unrated" just to draw attention? Could the movie be uncut but deserving an R rating since it's getting a theatrical release all by itself?

I think I heard somewhere that they are, actually. I missed last years, but hopefully that was just a one time fluke.
