Silent Films in Rue Morgue

anybody see the article on silent horror films in the recent Rue Morgue (jan 07). pretty smart and interesting - there's also another story about an older japanese ghost story film that looked pretty cool.

nice to see the silent films get some credit!

Silent films are great. Not just for their stories, but for their music as well. I have always wanted to rescore Nosferatu.

Rescoring Nosferatu wouldn't be that expensive of an endeavour. The rights are comparatively cheap.

I've restored it myself on my computer. There are at least 3-4 different Nosferatu restorations available, but I just like taking the original silent version in black/white, add my own music and clean up the picture. Anyways, I love the old silent films myself...Frankenstein (1910), Nosferatu (1920), and Phantom of The Opera (1920?).
