Samhain House: Interactive Filmmaking

As mentioned before, Black Sun Productions wants to make horror films for horror fans. The new year is quickly coming and we want to start planning and writing our first feature-length film, Samhain House (working title). As an added bonus to the horror fans here that have so kindly accepted us into the community, BSP wants to give you the chance to help create the film by providing your input. There are some things about this film that are set in stone (i.e. - it is a haunted house film and it will be filmed in the Blair Witch documentary style). Note: Not to worry, we plan on showing ghosts and more. However, over the course of the film's planning and writting phase I will be asking a series of questions. The answers you give will effect the film's story and characters. What other company is willing to let the fans do that?

So here's you're first question:

Should those trapped inside the house be: A) paranormal investigators (i.e. - Ghost Hunters) B)Independent Filmmakers Doing A Documentary On The House's History (i.e. - Blair Witch) or C) Local College Students Taking A Dare To Spend The Night In The House (i.e. - Boo)? Please be serious about your answers. I will post the next question on Tuesday, Jan. 2nd.

Are these three options set in stone, or are you willing to take on other suggestions for the reasons why they're there?

B

It's been way overdone, but it's the lesser of 3 evils. The other two are just mindnubmingly stupid IMO.

Another option would be accepted if it allowed for the film to be shot in documentary style.

If it's not too gruesome, how about a film crew that brings a girl there with the intentions of making a snuff film?

please, please, please, please don't make a film by committee

There is no possible way it can come out well if you don't have specific personal vision.

If you have to use cliches, twist them a little - When making something on a low (or non-existant) budget it is imperativethat you don't skimp on the creativity of the set-up.

Look at Session 9 for an example of an interesting set-up.

I already have specific senerios set up for each option, as I will for any other question asked. I just thought this would give people a little chance to shape the film a little. As said, certain things are already set in stone...items that are vital to my personal vision for the film (i.e. - the story behind the house, the ending, and quite a few of the scenes). And trust me when I say, friend Roderick, that none of the twists will be little;) .

Hmmm... good idea that actually had crossed my mind. However, that spun off into a completely new idea that will recieve its own feature and hopefully rank up there with the rest of the freaky little girl films:D.

Not a lot of response here. That's for the best. Samhain House is officially on hold. BSP is still determined to produce a feature film in 2007. Planning for Broken Doll (working title) went into planning last night. Flayed One, keep your eyes open for this one.
