Us Sinners
Us Sinners GUARANTEES to be a movie you will DEFINITELY tell your friends about.
Coming in Spring 2007 - see a teaser below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NrXp6ma354g I sent a rough edit to my brother for his honest opinion. He was so impressed he sent it to a film addict. Below is part of an e-mail sent to me regarding Us Sinners. I've never even met this person. I LOVED IT! I don't know how well it would be accepted by mainstream audiences... But the acting was terrific - in fact, I was joking with James that in many scenes, the actors didn't even seem to be acting! The bloody parts were very realistic, and at the end - YIKES!! I was just walking around, saying to myself, "O, Man, O, Man!!" So will you - Guaranteed!! |

Agreed, flabby white guy in whitey tighties just doesn't seem slasher-esque:D .

You could only dream to have an actor this good in anything you'll ever do.

Wow, that's a come back. But, I guess coming from a lame ass like yourself, I could expect nothing original.

you come on here and spam - that's it.
No contribution to any of the forums, no getting to know you phase, just WHAM here's my movie and I'm brilliant Sorry, but you have to earn respect around here. I do want to see your movie, but please let me make up my own mind about it. It honestly looks rather silly, but give us a chance to see the film. Who's distributing it? When does it drop on DVD...or will we get a chance to see it in the theater? About the actor - good for you for defending him. But I make movies for a living, with solid actors. So, once again allow us to judge for ourselves. If he's brilliant I'll take it all back, but there is no way I'll sit back and be told that I can't work with an actor of his caliber, because I'm quite certain that I have and will continue to do so.

I mentioned nothing about his acting skills. It is the writer's fault for putting it in and and director's fault for not taking it out. If that was an intended rape scene, it would not make any sense to have the killer get completely undressed. Should he be interrupted and have to flee, a naked man running down the street would attract more attention to himself than he would want. For believable rape scenes see Derailed and Evil Dead (because the tree rape scene is completely believable:p ).

"I mentioned nothing about his acting skills." It was implied as to "how good can a movie be with a flabby guy in it", or were you just being arrogant and snobby? Either way it's offensive, and not a nice thing to say to someone you don't know. "It is the writer's fault for putting it in and and director's fault for not taking it out." You really shouldn't rewrite a movie till you see it. If you're going by his less than perfect physique, that's your problem not the writer, director, or flabby actor. Can a flabby person not be slasher-esque? Can you say John Wayne Gacy? "If that was an intended rape scene" Do you know what's going to happen by a 2 second clip? Where was rape mentioned? Who's to say that's not his wife? Would it be odd if he were naked in his own bedroom with his wife? (BTW it's not his wife. But, that's just one scenario that makes perfect sense. Another is what actually happens.) "it would not make any sense to have the killer get completely undressed. Should he be interrupted and have to flee, a naked man running down the street would attract more attention to himself than he would want." ANYTHING can happen in a movie. That's why it's a movie. You're suppose to be a film maker, do you limit yourself because what you don't know might not make sense? You don't know the context of anything about this movie, yet you're judging it's validity. "For believable rape scenes..." You watch too many movies. Here's a little advice (which I'm sure you won't take) You want to learn about rape, murder, kidnapping, or anything illegal, read true accounts of true crime. Truth is so much stranger than fiction. Scarier too. To: Roderick Usher "you come on here and spam - that's it. No contribution to any of the forums, no getting to know you phase, just WHAM here's my movie" I'm sorry I didn't know there's a prerequisite for posting at THIS board. I don't go to many, but the one's I have been on I've made numerous friends, and I've never started out with "Hi, my name is". I DID post in the INDIE HORROR MOVIES where you post about "Indie and super low budget home made horror movies", which Us Sinners happens to fall into. Had someone written something nice or inquisitive I'd have answered nicely. Instead, arrogant dolts decided to make snide comments. "and I'm brilliant" Never said it, never implied it. Everything in my original post is 100% true. If someone who loved a rough edit makes you think I'm brilliant, that's your prerogative. I don't think I'm brilliant, I think the rough edit is far from perfect, but time will improve the edit. And I absolutely stand by the GUARANTEE that anyone who sees this movie will tell their friends about it. You can hate and despise this movie and yet the ending forces you to tell your friends about it. It has THAT moment, like the ending of Sixth Sense (which I almost fell asleep at, yet I do think it's one of the best surprise endings) "Sorry, but you have to earn respect around here." That's just stupid. Here's a bit of advice (of course you won't listen) BE NICE to everyone till you get to know them. Hate them AFTER they prove to be a schmuck. Don't start off with an attitude because you never know who can be a really good friend. You live in LA right? Isn't kissing ass mandatory? "I do want to see your movie" Great, thank you. "but please let me make up my own mind about it. It honestly looks rather silly, but give us a chance to see the film." Who's forcing anything down your throat? I made one post consisting of a link and letter. That's not brute force or mind games. As a matter of fact it was truth and advertising. Who's distributing it? When does it drop on DVD...or will we get a chance to see it in the theater? It's in post production, and because of a contact it already has an buy offer from a minor indie distributor. But, there's a major distributor that's interested in seeing the full final cut. But, I'm not jinxing it, and not worrying about distribution or festivals or anything till the movie is finished (or at least I'm happy with it), and that's quite a time away. "About the actor - good for you for defending him. But I make movies for a living, with solid actors. So, once again allow us to judge for ourselves. If he's brilliant I'll take it all back, but there is no way I'll sit back and be told that I can't work with an actor of his caliber, because I'm quite certain that I have and will continue to do so." I unlike many others (I guess) address the person I intend to, and no one else. So, I wasn't addressing you unless you're also Blacksun... To both BLACKSUN and RODERICk YEP, I'm nasty and mean, but only to people who start with a crappy attitude. You'll notice I haven't said anything to or about the first post by "The return". That's because his post was exactly what he thought of the teaser. Not what I was hoping for, but honest, straight forward and without attitude. |
