how do your store your DVD collection?

I was initially thinking of getting some wall shelving, but now I'm leaning toward a large spinner rack that will hold around 500 or so. I think I have more floor space than wall space, so this is probably the way to go. How to you store your DVD collection?

Lots and lots of bookshelves. We have a ridiculous amount of movies; VHS and DVD. We never rent movies, we just buy them.

Thanks for the link. Sure would be nice to have working search functions. I am going to have to get one of those spinner racks.

That's the thing. I like the look of regular shelves much better, but I simply don't have the room to expand once I fill one up. I'd either have to split my collection to multiple rooms or go with a spinner. That is the main reason I'm leaning toward a spinner.

i keep moving mine around cause they're all organized by one type of thing or another....or they run into each other somehow by directors, genres, actors etc....so i have to have more space for my horrors than others

I have 2 spinners and they're perfect for me. They look great (IMO) and hardly take up any room.

Here's a really outdated picture of one of mine:

VHS - 3 deep - lego table covered in megablock dragons in front - pixar toys on top.

Vinyl wall - plus a row of vhs (kids) 3 deep - spawn toys, etc on top.

AV stuff, CDs in the shelves, toys on top and in front.

DVDs and laserdiscs. - 2 deep for DVDs (each section holds around 50 - you do the math. disney toys on top. excuse the mess - currently sorting a few boxes of vhs tapes to see if there's anything on them.
