A thread for Heavy stuff...

So what heavy stuff have you been digging on recently, be it death, hardcore, grind or just plain old metal?

Just here lately, Agalloch's Ashes Against the Grain and My Dying Bride's A Line of Deathless Kings have been in constant rotation. Both great new records. If any of you guys have any interest in doom or folk metal, I'd recommend them.

ASSUCK - Anticapital/Blindspot (possibly my favorite heavy album of all time..... mean breakdowns and the best fucking blastbeats EVER).

As well as some Cryptopsy, Skinless, Excruiciating Terror, Bathory and one of the cooler bands I've discovered latley Toxic Holocaust!

If you love shit like Kreator or Bathory's first album you'll fucking love this one.

I have the Assuck, Anticapital Blindspot as well, that's def. some bad ass heavy fuckin shit...

I tell you a fuckin awesome band I've been listening to lately is Animosity, ever listened to them? This album fucking kicks ass, great grooves and some fast shit that's heavy as fuck...

"Empires" by "Animosity"

Also been digging "Dreams Of Death And Dismay" by "Anata" great death metal...

"Dreams Of Death And Dismay" by "Anata"

Also I can't say enough about this album "Kilafornia" by "First Blood" it's hardcore stuff with a fucking great overall sound, awesome grooves and kickass breakdowns...

Another kick ass band is "Internal Suffering, some extremely heavy stuff along the lines of "Hate Eternal"

There's this band Dethklok that I've heard a couple songs from. The songs are short and kinda weird (it sounds like they're singing about coffee in one of them), but it's pretty good

Isn't Dethklok that fucking cartoon?

Anyway, I just popped in At the Gates' Slaughter of the Soul for the first time in years. Damn... that record is a monster. I can't figure out how it escaped my regular rotation.

So... about Soulseek. I've heard a lot of great things about it, but I'm very wary of direct connect style programs. Is that how Soulseek works? If any of you guys could fill me in, I'd appreciate it.
