2.5-acres of rotting human corpses for research? For real!

Wired has an article today where they talk about this place in Tennessee where they have a "human-decay research facility" - a bunch of rotting human bodies. Imagine that place on Halloween night or during a full moon - it's the perfect plot for a horror movie!

Here is a picture from the article:

Here is the actual article:

Death Stinks, but It's Revealing

Tennessee is home not only to the Dollywood theme park and the Dixie Stampede, but also to the world's only human-decay research facility -- a 2.5-acre outdoor laboratory that houses over 20 corpses in various states of decomposition.

The bodies are unceremoniously stuffed into garbage bags, rolled inside carpets or tied to tree trunks. Some are in shallow graves, while others are left to rot in the open.

I seem to remember a fictional movie or a TV show in which the murderer dumped two dead bodies in the middle of a similar research situation, only much smaller. In the movie/TV show, the researchers found two handcuffed dead bodies laying amongst the research corpses they'd laid there intentionally. Did anyone see this, or am I hallucinating (again)? :D

That is so funkin' sweet, I'm having trouble controlling myself here. Amelie, you might be talking about an episode of CSI, I'd imagine... They tend to have plots like that, but, I rarely watch the show.

I often think I watch too much History, Discovery, and TLC, but then a show about ghosts comes on and I forget about it.
