If Only He Hadn't Stopped To Pee, He'd Still Be Alive
Elderly Man Slips And Dies While Relieving Himself Near Payette River
Smiths Ferry, Idaho -- An elderly driver who stopped along an Idaho highway to relieve himself slipped, fell down the embankment leading to the Payette River and died, Valley County sheriff's deputies said. Arthur Pearson, 84, of Nampa, was pronounced dead after emergency crews arrived at the site about 50 miles north of Boise on State Route 55 about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the sheriff's office. The man landed on the bank, but never fell into the river, authorities said Thursday. The cause of death was not immediately known.
