Question Is Zombies over used?

Alright to get started I'm a big fan of Romero, but since Land of the Dead I have been seeing tons of previews for zombie flicks. I just picked up the new Fangoria today and about 70% of it is all previews on zombie movies. I pretty sick of cheap knock-offs of the great Romero. Is anyone else sick of zombie movies?

In a way yes, and in a way no. Very few zombie flicks measure up to the good Romero zombie flicks. That's generally accepted as true. But a crappy zombie flick plus six beers is still a decent evening.

Imo there's no such thing as over using, if the film is good I don't care if I've seen the premise a hundred times over.

I'm not sure if you were impling it or not but every zombie movie isn't trying to copy Romero. Another thing...if you compare every zombie film you see to Romero,Sci-fi to Lucas, drama to Scorsese ect. ect. then you're never going to be satisfied.

That's not really fair, you can't expect him to make Night of the Living Dead every go around. High expectations will have you pissed off your whole life.

Quite frankly (hehe I said "quite frankly"), a lot of horror genre is overused. Very seldom do we see an original and interesting idea come up. Vampires are overdone. What about werewolves? Thery're overdone... Slashers, no doubt. There's a diamond in the rough in every one, but horror itself is a very narrow genre, and because there's so little diversity its very easy for any yahoo to pick up a camera and start shooting some bullshit.

I'm such a big fan of horror that I never get tired of to many of anything. I try not to expect to much from any movie and with low expectations I end up liking most of them.
